I love how you introduced the drabbles with it being a Higurashi tradition and having InuYasha so enraptured! I loves it when he can show is more gentler side ... makes both that sweeter and his rude smug cockiness so much better!!
Oh my goodness!! Touga's comment about seeking entertainment elsewhere!! That was so completely Sesshoumaru!! I cracked up over InuYasha's thoughts on that!
Oh yah... Inu's in the dog house for that slip... I wonder what heck Kagome will inflect upon him and for having it around their child! I wonder if he has been sentenced to the couch? Will the game survive? Will Kagome's easily bruised self image be hurt that InuYasha is playing video games that star super enhanced super sexy women? It isn't going to go down well...

I love the way you write the Christmas stories with the inserts from other authors. It gives it a nice twist with the different styles in it. This story was cute. Shippo and Rin and the gingerbread house....I can totally see it happening! I just can't imagine Souta as an old man though...I had a hard time with that last year too. He's just so...frisky..lol. I can see Yash and Miro buying that game...especially Miro...haha.

This is coming off a lot smoother now than when it began and the encouraging reviews really help. OMG, I know the game, too! My cousin has it and RAVED about it when it first came out! XD Too funny! I told him to get a life and go see some real boobs!!
This was great - I love that everyone is telling stories now to keep the kids busy; plus it brings back happy memories for Kags and Sota. Very nice. :) And InuYasha shooting that threat to Kai was pretty nice, too; he sure changed his tune in a hurry! XD Touga is priceless; Sesshomaru's spitting image for sure. Which reminds me...where is that lunkhead anyway? Is he going to get off his high horse and make an appearance or what?! XD

I'm trying to keep the gang pretty much themselves -but also portray them as parents. I know my mom threw that "bed" threat out there with the quickness if I was starting to get on her nerves, so I figured it was good enough for Yash. And Kai's response? Me all the way. xD Touga is love. I can just picture a little Sessie running around and Yasha wanting to slam his head into a wall because the "curse" carried on to the next generation. Ha! That's why he was mentally shaking his fist.
As for Sess showing up? We shall see... We shall see... :D Thanks again for hanging out with us!

I love the characterization in this story, especially the kids :) Lecherous daughters, lol - it's karma for Miroku. I love Kai and Touga - although I'm picturing them a little younger in my head since I found from baby sitting lots of cousins that ten-ish is kinda transition age - losing all your cuteness and morphing into your adolescent awkwardness.
Author's Response: Thanks. ^^ I'm trying to make them like their parents, but with enough of their own personalities to give y'all a chuckle. I practically raised my cousins as well, and at 10 and 12 they were a lot more advanced than how I'm writing these kids. But every family is different, ya know? I'm patterning them after mine -just not as "worldly" as they are.

Oh God...I see the torture of Kouga has already begun, Lol. I'm guessing it'll be on the next chapter even more what with him telling the story and all. Nice take on Hansel and Gretel, Bluezinthos. I wish someone would've told that story to my youngest nephew......he's so SPOILED! Lol, but anyway....
I'm soooooo psyched about the fairy tale aspect of this fic. I have tons of books on the Grimm's brothers, Perrault, and Hans Christian Anderson. I love 'em.
And yeah, "Sexy Souta" is definetely a sweetie...playing Grandpa to the kids. Pretty lively for a seventy year old.
Its nice too that Shippou and Kaede get put into the fic even though both of them couldn't be there. Though I swear...for a second I thought the rotted-teeth woman was Kikyou 0.o
But no...she's rumpelstiltskin, right?
Haha, I'm loving the story so far. You shouldn't be so hard on it! I definetely can't wait to see what comes up next with Kouga and his tale. Wow......only twelve days (almost eleven) until Christmas! That's eleven more exciting tales :D

I see Souta has been hanging and learning from Miroku toooooo much. What did he do? take the sweet boy under his wing to turn him into a dang lecher like himself? *cringes at image of him groping women and saying bare my child* That is sooo unhealthy!!
I love the turmoil going through Rin and Sesshoumaru in their sections! and yes.. I can totally see Kouga being like that! Being a jerk when asked a favour.. I wanna ask about that 'smell top lip' but it scares me.... *winks*
The interaction with the kids/pups so dang cute! The 'Cold' conversation was so funny... I loved the threat Sango gave! I wonder if she's ever made good on it before?

Thank you for another awesome review. I appreciate it -especially since you had a good time. The "smelling your top lip" is this really country expression that my folks on my gram's side used to say. It's kinda like saying you're smelling yourself, or you're smelling your own breath, lol. I know, crazy, lol. I always throw in little things like that from home.
As for Sess and Rin, I'm always making things hard for Yasha and kags, so this time I really wanted to give them a break, so I picked on those two instead. What can I say? I had to get 'em. :) The rest, well, I'm trying. My holiday mood is kinda nil (as you know), but I'm trying to hide it and make y'all laugh a little. It's the only Xmas gift I can give. <3

Oh this is going to be wonderful I can tell already! ^^ Can't wait to see what everyone has come up with and how you'll tie it all together, though I've got an idea as I know how I'd do it! I like the fact that you've got the angst coming from Sessh and Rin instead of Inu And Kag, and Touga is perfect! I can just picture him looking and sounding just like his dad! IY's and Kagome's little interlude was so cute too, with their son standing by thinking, "Ew...get a room already!" Just like his dad too...I love it! Other favorite moments: the stocking with "wench" stitched on it; "and I'd rather shove Tessaiga up my own ass than to ever lose you." (I don't know why that strikes me so funny but I'm still smiling...I can so hear him saying that!); IY calling a 70 year old "runt"; and we're both so mean to Kouga ...hehehe...and I actually really like him! ^^ Lovely work my dear! My cohorts keep telling me that I'm being too hard on myself, but I can't help it. I think it's all the holiday stuff (you know what I'm dealing with). But I'm trying to make this thing enjoyable and I can only hope that I do.
I think EVERY kid hates seeing their parents get intimate. It's just so... yucka! I admit, I totally revert back to my kid days when I write the youngsters. My cousins and I were just a hot mess. xD And can you even imagine a stocking with wench on it? lmao. IMO, that's a real IY move.
Now, as for Kouga, I'm not quite through with him yet. *evil chuckle* I really don't care for him, so unlike you, I mess with him maliciously. :D And btw, your contribution is so so cute. I can tell that you really do like Kouga -and most can tell that I really don't. Hehe...

Aww! How sad and cute! Sad because of Sessh and Rin, obviously (amazing how you portrayed the break-up though. That's so REAL of them! I've seen people go through that and if it were written down it would be just. like. that. So....wow. Lol. You rock with the realism), but also cute because of the KIDS! Oh my God.......I laughed soooooo hard because of their antics.
First off, you've got Kai whose just devious as hell (probably even more devious than Shippou, if thats possible) and I love how he's making his little plan to help his aunt and uncle. Touga, who is like.....the mini-me to Sesshomaru's Dr. Evil ("This Touga..." laff). Miroku's girls who WIN over all the children for that grope-stunt they pulled. How cute is that?! Now watch the son turn out like Sango....lol. Finally (I think), there's Sesshomaru's daughter, Satomi, whose easy-bake oven present had to have been the best by far. InuYasha is such a good Uncle ;)
But really, the coolest one had to be Souta. A SEVENTY YEAR OLD player?! Holy shiz....thats my grandpa right there. A heartbreaker till the heart stops beating...he also kind of reminds me of this character in a bolly-film my friend showed me. The guy, "Sexy Sam," figured that after his wife died he would do all the things he couldn't when she was alive and live it UP with women, booze, and endless partying. Hmmmm....so it looks like we got a "Sexy Souta" on our hands (in a subtler, I'm-just-cool-and-old kind of way). Nice ;) His take on Sessh and Rin put things in an interesting light, too.
Finally, the usual Inu-Tachi banter gave this a nice little start and blended well between the Sessh/Rin angst. Such a sad way to end the chapter with a lonely Sesshomaru, but I know it'll be an interesting ride in which healing and all that warm, fuzzy holiday-ness are incorporated. And it'll be VERY interesting to read the guest stuff and see how fairy-tales are used with this. I wasn't around for the first Christmas party so I'm glad I was able to catch this one. I'm having an ULTRA tough time with the narration and making the fairytales fit. >.< I changed the background on this 3 times and ended up settling because I was out of time. So, it is what it is and I can only hope you guys have fun with it. I hate to disappoint, I really do, but there may be no getting around it this time. Sigh.
But back to the review! I'm so happy that you caught all of the little things I added to try and make it enjoyable. I love Souta, lol. He's definitely a player, but a sweetie, too. And the banter doesn't end there. I'm patterning them a bit after my own family; we get together and everything is a joke or a playful insult -and since I'm not big on Kouga, more torture is coming his way. xD Miroku's girls are awesome, too. You know girls take after their papas a lot, so they're little lechers! Couldn't have written them any other way. :D

Merry ALMOST Christmas, girl! This was a really great kickoff to this story. Rin and Sesshoumaru breaking up?! Who would ever have guessed? Talk about a twist. And I also like how the implosion was rationalized. They broke up for such.....ORDINARY reasons. Essentially, lack of communication. With Sessh being such an introvert and Rin being so non-combative, it's not far fetched at all. That whole situation makes it all more REAL. Even immortal love can be lost if you're not honest with each other. I really can't wait to see what happnes with all this. Rin must have finally said something truly horrible to hurt Sessh so much that he left her. But after 500 years of not saying anything, it would have been brutal. I'm on the edge of my seat about it!
As for Inuyasha....ADORABLE. I love all your depictions of him anyway; you "get" him better than a lot of writers. He is a complex character in a lot of ways....but so simple in others. His horrible past can make him abrasive and tempermental....but he values family and friendship above everything. In spite of the fact that the world has kicked him in the teeth, he never gave up hope on it or became too jaded to believe that people were worth fighting for. A lot of writers get bogged down in his anger...but don't address his sweetness. You always balance both really well.
And the funny parts. I am STILL giggling at poor Kai's molestation by Miroku's girls. And Inuyasha's non-reaction to it. "Take it like a man." LOL. Kai did kind of deserve it, though. He is a cheeky little bugger. And too cute!
And Touga....that child is Sesshoumaru all over again, even in the way he speaks. I can only imagine how cute it is to hear Sesshoumaru's words come out of someone so short, lol. And since Kai is plotting an intervention and planning to let Touga in on it, I can't wait to see what they come up with. Great start, girl!

Thanks for another wicked review -I swear, you spoil me. I was hating on this, but I have to say that the kind words I've received really made me feel better. When I don't like something, I assume no one else will, either. So to hear that y'all are enjoying it thus far really takes a load off my shoulders.
Sess and Rin -I needed to start that with a hurdle. And yesh, their reasons are very ordinary, lol. I like ordinary. xD But seriously, lack of communication, or when someone is ALWAYS the beta to another's alpha, can really destroy a relationship. There has to be balance, and let's be real, Sess and Rin have none, lol. She does what he wants her to do, and she loves him for it, but after a few centuries, I imagine it can become tiring! So I gave them a flare up.
And you know what? I liked InuYasha, too. He and the kids are my faves, so thanks for being cool with my characterizations. I like him crude and sometimes mean, but I always try to give him a reason for being that way. He isn't just an asshole without a cause as some write him -he's got issues and demons, but he fights them with the help of those that love him. (Gosh, can you tell that he's my eternal favorite??)
With the kids, I just made them little carbon copies of their parents -what kid isn't? - and I tried to give them a little humor and cuteness because, well, they're the gang's offspring. What's not to love? xDrnrnAgain, thanks BUNCHES for such a nice review. I'm struggling to pull this together this time, but I'm hoping it will be decent, at the very least.
