Title: Yearnings of a Lonely Heart

Yes Yes Yes!!! 'jumps up and down and kisses you on both cheeks' I can't wait for some heavy duty kag Inu action, and I mean that in every way possible*winkie*.  I know it's kinda of a rude statement, and ignore it if it offends you, but I kind of want it to work out for both Inuyasha and kagome despite the obvious differences instead of how the real movie ended (even though I thought it was wonderful when I watched it over the weekend, beautiful story!)  I don't know, I just feel like Inuyasha and Kagome are so much more emotionally connected in this that I can almost feel it in me (giving me butterflies).  'shudder' it would be hard to accept it if he ends up marrying the 'straight haired' girl that was mentioned in the last chapter, the one who heard his playing and asked if it was Sango (I have a suspicion it's kikyo).

I apologize if it sounds selfish for how I prefer this to work out (curse you potential kikyo look-alike!!!! ;p) but I feel like there should be more acceptance of different relationships than there are now.  Each chapter keeps drawing me in and I can't wait to read what comes next kik!! You're doing a fantastic job ^_-

Author's Response: Paw Print! *hugs n' smooches* I'm behind schedule in posting the latest chapter, but that's because it's giving me the business. I think I must have hit the mid-story hump or something! I've been writing it, and RE-writing it for 2 days now. :( There are just so many things that didn't "feel" write, and worse, that's in just the first half. I still have to write the second half from scratch! >.<

You saw the movie? Awesome! Wasn't it lovely and bittersweet? You're right, though. I deliberately brought Yash and Kags closer, that's why I gave them all these backgrounds. I wanted to elaborate much more on their relationship than the film did. But, you know, in the film, he doesn't marry that girl... :P

How will it end? I'm not saying, but you saw how the movie ended, lol. I don't really want to say how the film ended in case someone reads this and hasn't seen it, but I understand your desire to see them together. We can't help it! We love Inu and Kags together, but will it happen here? Who knows... *Mysterious music plays* :D

Thanks for a lovely review! <333

Title: Yearnings of a Lonely Heart

The part when Sango gave the ring to Inuyasha and with her words said to him, touched my heart. I can feel and predict that I am going to cry when I'm gonna watch this movie, aren't I? lol. Either way, if it is I bet it'll be well worth it!

Can't wait till I read the next chappie. :) I wonder what will happen next??? Till then... *Winks* ;)

Author's Response: Awww, thanks for such a nice review! The movie definitely made me cry, but I should tell you that all of that stuff between InuYasha and sango is my own creation, as are all of the details about her marriage. Kagome's background as a dancer is my doing as well, so when I said I took a lot of liberties i was serious! :P

That said, I'm so glad you're having fun with my little rendition. I'm working on the next chapter, so with any luck, it will post later on today. This one is giving me a bit more trouble than the others because I'm trying to get a lot of my own work in there, but still stay true to the events of the film that I have to touch on. So, here's to hoping I can pull it off. :D

Author's Response: Yesh, it's over -for now. *hugs* I should have a chapter up shortly, and I'm so glad I've helped to relax you. I know you can use some time to just kick back and unwind. Wish me luck with the next chap. I have a lot of areas to snag without making the chapter too long. >.<

Ooo... A musician. I guess that explains all that lovely long hair. *grins* Hmm... but's who's the chick? I'm so glad you're on a bit of a roll and there's another chapter to read.

Author's Response: Yesh, a violinist like he was in the movie. Gosh, the part where he plays for the sisters that first time is so beautiful, sis. You can literally see her fall in love with him as he plays and the song... *DIEZ* It's gorgeous! In that part, it's done with a single violin and just fantastic. But when I let you guys hear it at the end of this story, it's with a full orchestra and I guarantee you, it will blow you away!

Teehee... Kagome's all embarrassed! I just loved that little bit in the middle where he had his head in her lap and she was stroking his head. Very subtle and sexy. I'm loving this fic, sis. On to the next chapter! *grins*

Author's Response: Kagome is like a little girl in love for the first time, and that's because it is the first time. She blushes a lot and stammers, can barely hold eye contact. It's totally endearing, and InuYasha, while he may appear slightly oblivious, he's picking it up. The thing with the hair, that happened between them on the beach -sort of. They were sitting on some rocks and he put his head on her lap and she stroked his hair -of course, that was after she put her hand to her heart in shock and wonder. It was the cutest thing I've ever seen! xD So I wanted to have them share a similar moment of sweet innocence. *happy sighs* Thanks for sticking with me, sis. <333

Title: Yearnings of a Lonely Heart

FINALLY caught up.  This is what I get for not checking my e-mail for days, lol.  But, seriously, this is really good.  And different.  Inuyasha is such a charmer.  And his relationship with Sango is so different from his relationship with Kagome.  I guess both ladies need something different from him.  Sango needs a son and Kagome needs....a lover?  I can't wait to see what happens next.  Very different and very good, girl.

Author's Response: And she's up to date! :D

Yes, the relationships are very different between the characters. Sango loves him as a son, and he's a balm for her fractured heart. He gives her the child she never had. Kagome is in love with him (no matter what she says), so yeah, they each need something very different from him, lol.

I know this is out of my zone, but it means a lot that you like it. I enjoy being different (it's a bit of a trademark at this point!), but different doesn't always mean others will enjoy it, so I'm happy that you do! Thanks for all of the reviews! <3

So Inuyasha can play the violin like a virtuoso.  Yet another adorable trait.  But, unfortunately, I see that Kikyo has just made her appearance.  That always means trouble.  Nearly caught up....

Author's Response: You know, you're the ONLY one that realized straightaway that she was Kikyou? LOL. That's why you're da bomb, girl. I can't get a thing past ya! I can't tell you why she's there, since it's important to the story, but, yeah >.> there she be!

And hai! He played the violin in the film, and it's the entire HOOK of that movie -and this fiction. xD

Inuyasha is so ADORABLE in this story.  I've never heard of this movie it's based on.....but I can't wait to see how the relationships changer from something innocent ot something more...spicy.  :)  Off to read more....

Author's Response: Don't you just love him, girl? I took mad liberties with this retelling (so that it's not a straight from movie to fic adaptation with no heart), but I did keep his sweetness exact to the character in the film. I happened upon this film by chance on a bored morning and was so inspired I started the fiction the very same day and then downloaded the movie to my computer. I've watched it about 8 times now, lol. It was just that good. :D

Title: Yearnings of a Lonely Heart

Awww, that scene with InuYasha and Sango was so touching! And it gives her character and relationship with him so much more depth. Amazing, and beautifully written. When she gave him the ring, I thought I would cry. I could picture the whole scene VIVIDLY.

Another good one was when Kagome saw InuYasha playing his violin on the rocks. Its like she's finally starting to "get" her feelings, and if the next chapter is heavy on the Inu/Kag then that's definetely gonna be exciting...especillay since he's noticing them, too. I wonder how receptive Sango, who's developed this mother/son bond with InuYasha, will be to either of them acting on it. ;)

I love this, and am looking forward to reading what happens next.

~Am

Author's Response: You know what? We think alike, lol. We're always amped over the SAME parts. The scene with Sango made me teary-eyed (of course, some of that is because my mom's birthday is coming up and it's always a little hard for me. That's why I'm usually really partial to mothers in my stories). And then there's the scene with Yasha on the rocks. There's a similar scene in the movie, but he's just alone -no one is watching him. So I basically wrote it with InuYasha in mind and just gave it a life of its own because I thought it was such a profound visual.

And you're right -Yasha is starting to see things in Kagome, but he's not sure if he's right about them. Kagome, well, you'll see her state when I post the next chapter. It's such a rocky road, you know? But I guess that's why I like writing it. :D Thanks for another awesome review!

Glad to see him walking again, now will he have Kagome put on a little show for him?

Author's Response: *nods* Isn't it, though? Everyone has their own thoughts and agendas and no one seems to be on the same page. Too much like real life, lol. I can't tell ya about this chapter yet, but I'm writing it now and hoping that you like it! :D Thanks for the review!

Title: Yearnings of a Lonely Heart

Heheheh, Kagome gets to show Inu her awards.  Maybe they'll get some alone time to talk.  The scene with Inu and Sango was so sweet.  *sniffle*  It's a good thing that she sees him as a son.  I was beginning to worry.  Giving Inuyasha the ring was so touching.  I'm surprised that Kagome hadn't noticed it and I wonder what her first reaction will be when she first sees it.  Oh, I failed to mention that I found Sango's reaction to the woman outside hiliarious and cute.  I loved your portrayal of Shiori and 'Shinki'.  That was cute as well.

It's nice to see a fic written where the characters are closer to my age.  For me, the usual characters are just kids.  I can relate to this.  Thanks.  ^_^  Soooo, are you saying that Kagome's akin to a MILF?  LOL

Snow

Author's Response: LMAO! Hell yeah she's a MILF! xD

Thanks for reading, Snow. I'm so glad you're enjoying it. I specifically wanted to do this story because of the ages of the characters. I don't think there are enough fictions that speak to IY fans that aren't 18 <.< I mean, I write them young, I write them in their twenties, too, but there's nothing wrong with 30's, 40's, 50's, and beyond. Fandom isn't just made up of kids, and like you said, it gives people something they can relate to.

That said, I really like Sango's relationship with InuYasha. I like the fact that she can find a balm for her heart in him. Kagome missed the ring at the dinner table (you saw how jittery she was), but I'm sure she'll recognize it at some point. xD As for Sango and that girl, she was pretty much the same way in the movie. She just cut that chick right off, but it's maternal intuition, lol.

Shiori is a joy, and I loved her in the movie as well. The scene I wrote never happened in the film, but I wanted to give her some airtime because she was such a hoot onscreen. I may have to post a download of the movie when this is finished just so everyone can see why I was so inspired. ^_^

Oh wow!  That's so awesome!  Inuyasha can play the violin.  I feel so sorry for Kagome, but for some reason, it seems that Inuyasha does have feelings for her.  This reminds me of that movie where a young man falls in love with an eccentric old woman who liked to sit in on the funerals of strangers.

Oh my godnees, Goddess!! The tears have started building already! Just from the beautiful Intro! The Angst is going to be so tempered by the sweetness of the Bittersweet.

I love the background on the two sisters. Very rich and wonderful! The contrast between very pronounced in their 'life' expericences.

I'm curious to find out how InuYasha got to be so beaten up looking? That must have been some powerful storm out on the ocean!

I can't wait to read more!

I do think there may be some rivalry later on with the sisters....

Author's Response: Thanks, Nikkie! <3 I thought the first chapter was very sad and solemn, but I wanted it to be to kind of give y'all an idea of what kind of lives that led before he came. Since you haven't seen the other chaps yet, I won't say anything, but they each have really different relationships with InuYasha. As for his beaten appearance, when he made it to their beach, he got banged up on the rocks and stuff, that's why he was all bruised. No one beat on him. :P Thanks for popping in, Nik. That explains it then.  Sango doesn't have a crush on INuyasha, she just thinks of him as her son.  That's why she exphasizes that he is a boy, and why she wanted to purchase the clothing with her own money, and always fusses over him.

Kagome on the other hand...she's falling in love with him.

This is going to get awkward. :P

YOu're doing an amazing job as always and it is great to see you haveing so much fun with this story.

Happy Writing!

Author's Response: Yeshm that's it in a nutshell. :D I love that Sango wants to take care of him, and since we're coming to the halfway point of the fic, I figured I kept y'all guessing long enough about her intentions. Kagome, yeah, another story entirely. Thanks to Sango's meddling, she is now forced to spend quality time with InuYasha. Gotta love nosey sisters! :D

And thanks, Tina! I admit, I'm more focused on this story than I've been in a long while. It's fun to love writing again. <3
