I don't know what to even say but I do love this chapter so much more over the 2nd one. Really makes us think how does Inuyasha feel about that dang necklace.
Da Grrrl Says: I think more people like the first part because Kagome gets punished for "assaulting" him as much as she did in the anime. The kotodama, sadly, ended up being a "weapon" instead of its intended use, which was to calm him when he was losing it. I don't hate part 2. I think that having Kagome hear about her treatment of him through the eyes of others helps her grow more as a person and realize that she was hurting the one she loved. There really wasn't any reason to drag her punishment out too long (I know some people wanted me to include additional chapters for that very purpose) and I just didn't see any need for that. I wanted to leave part 1 as it was, but part 2 isn't something I seriously resent writing.

Interesting look at the kotodama...it does seem rather cruel that Kagome uses it so much in the series for such little things. Of course, the subjugation command doesn't seem to actually pain Inuyasha (unless it's done repeatedly, in which case he gets back aches), but it would still be a blow to his pride to be thrown to the ground by one word from a little human girl.

A very interesting story which revolves around how Inu Yasha feels about the kotodama and I agree whole-heartedly that it really must be a blow to his pride to be sat all the time for small things, and it would understandably make him doubt if Kagome trusts him, which is something I can understand. Kouga was a bit out of character since I don't think he would ever be that cruel to Inu Yasha, they're more like allies or atleast they accept each other in some form. Definitely a good story, and I'm looking forward to reading more of you're stories.

I loved it! The angst was perfect as far as the length and severity. I really wanted a story such as this, because truthfully, you'd think Inuyasha would try to do something like this and I sometimes wondered why he didn't. I think it could have been improved if Kagome would have meet Kikyo at the beginning and for her to be surprised that Inuyasha didn't show, but Kaede's speech set the stage for Sessh's and Sango's later on. Other than that, I liked the portrayal of Kouga, but seeing his arrogance get crushed by the "half breed" would have been icing on the cake (if you like icing). In all reality, one of my favorite stories because I love the situation... and the fact that you used a nice mix of Japanese words to supplement the English (for those of us who don't know the words or have a romaji translation site, a short dictionary would be helpful though) I just wish it would turn out longer, I didn't want to reach owari.

So, I've managed to read this awesome story about 6 times becaus I love it so much and somehow I've never reviewed it...
To me, this story is true in so many ways. In so many fics Kagome is basically perfect. No one really goes down the path of her faults. That's why my favorite stories are the angst ones, and even more so when Kagome is the one thats causing the "problem" or "isuue". Too many fics are about what Inuyasha does wrong, and how he has to make up for everything.
I think that the way Kagome uses the necklace in the anime is completely ridiculous and I was always suprised Inuyasha never did anything but yell a little. Im glad that you brought out this aspect in the form of an amazing story. In my two stories that take place in the feudal era, I don't think Kagome ever sits Inuyasha simply because I don't care for it, and it never crosses my mind when writing. I don't know if that's good or maybe even bad...
Your diction and genreal way with words never ceases to amaze me. All of your stories always pull me in within the first few paragraphs, if not the fist sentences.
I absolutely love your work. Keep writing, and keep sharing your ideas and amazing talent.

Whoa. I started playing that song about 3/4 of the way through, and it finished just when i finished reading. Freakish. But this part was so true too. Everything Kagome felt, like how she never thought she was doing him any harm.
A lot of people touch on this stuff in their fics, but I'm really glad someone's actually decided to elaborate and write something like this. Of course, now I'll be judging everything else..-^-^-

This story's a little weird for me. I'm a rosary hater (but not hardcore like the guy who wrote Hate) and good stories that deal with the implications of the rosary as the focus are awfully hard to find. Other than Correcting Mistakes and Turnabout Is Fair Play, I can't think of one, except for The White Dog which dealt with it in a chapter and Settle The Score which looks like it's heading in that direction if it ever gets updated.
So here I was, looking for new stories, saw the summary, saw the author and expected to be blown away, because your stories are usually thought provoking and they usually rock. The first half blew me away. You dealt with the rosary fairly, (acknowledging that it's not always used for less than Kosher purposes) and the ending... Best cliffhanger since the Buffy season 2 ender. I was kind of underwhelmed by the second half though. I felt a little cheated, like the happy ending was too easy, or that I'd missed a whole middle part. I think I actually like the story better if I pretend the second part doesn't exist, which is odd because I'm a sucker for happy endings and Inu/Kag pairings. I think maybe making this just a two shot ruined the story. Something with a first chapter as good as this story had deserves more. Maybe when you're done with your other 400 (really good and long) stories you can revisit this one. You did it with Summer Rain, and this story has more legs than that one did. (And hey, I even got the perfect theme songs, Goodbye to Romance, Fire In The Sky, Hero, and Running Out of Time, all by Ozzy Osbourne.)
One thing I've noticed about your stories, is that when the shit hits the fan you tend to place more blame on Kagome than most writers, which I think is a refreshing change. For some reason, people like to write Inuyasha as a total jerk off (which he is to a degree), and Kagome as this perfect and pure being who can do no wrong (I mean, yeah, she's basically good, but perfect? No way). Which is perfectly fine, but gets boring after a while. You tend to put the blame on both of them and let the fall-out direct the story, which for me makes your stories more interesting (HAP does this too, but not as well).
