Oh my god what a heartbreaking little piece. You always do such a good job of plucking on those old heart strings, iGirl.
I was surprised that neither of them, during the production of the play, mentioned how similar it was to their 'real life' activities. I can also see a followup piece to the song by hinder, "Lips of an Angel."
I haven't heard the song before, but I think I'll google it to hear it. In most songfics I think that the song somehow detracts from the piece, but in this one it really didn't. I liked that you had Kikyou being a real part of the story, yet she never showed up physically in the story. I like that you didn't have Kagome looking or acting like Kikyou, so there was no reason to think that Inu was just missing Kikyou or something like that. Both women were unique individuals who happened to love and be loved by one man. I kept thinking that she would show up and tell Inu that she was leaving him or something like that. Guess that is just my Inu/Kag shipper getting the better of me. I think that there are a lot of people who miss the part of the relationship where Kag will do whatever is needed to make Inuyasha happy. It really hit in this piece.

Author's Response: Caity! Thanks for reading this one. It was hard to write, but I needed to. I know some will look for a sequel, but there most likely won't be one. This whole story was based on something, so it ended accordingly. I know how you feel though. I'm Inu/Kags all the way, but this one had to go the way it did. And thanks for noticing that Kik and Kags were not painted the same way, neither in looks or attitude. They were (and are) profoundly different except for their love of one man. You know, I've heard "lips of an angel" many times and I don't like that song at all, lol. Hinder has MUCH better stuff -tee hee. Thank you for R&Ring. It means a lot. ^_^

Well that ending was a shocker! I cant blv they didnt end up together; only in their heart n dreams. *pouts* It's no fair, but i asume they have something special.
I like how the acting was based on the anime and their life was similiar in the fic; really well written. Oh oh, and the fact that Inu didnt cheat on kikyou(he should of) lolz. It's ironic how he can cheat on kags with kikyou in some fics but barely the other way aroun... so not fair >.>
i'll leave u with a secret... yasha adores me; all that je t'adore kaggie was only an act. lmao, he ish a good actor so i understand. lolz... Again; job well done girl... i love it. Still think it's not fair *pouts* Evil yasha! sexy, but evil!! ... *whistles* ta ta ^^

Amazing!!!! I was getting scared that your fic writing was dwindling, but here you pop in with another spectacular piece.
I absolutely loved it, and that's saying alot because usually I am repulsed by Kikyo and Inuyasha in love (bleck :) ). This was fantasic and made me teary :)

Author's Response: Paw Print! Thanks for checking this one out. In all honesty, I do find myself writing less due to the demands of real life. But whenever I get the inspiration, you'll be sure to see something from me. Plus, I'm going to finish all of my current stories, so you won't get rid of me too soon. ^^ I, too, don't like Inu-Kik pairings, but this one had to go the way that it did. you said you wouldn't write an Inu/Kik fic. Hate to tell you this but you just did! What "reason" might i ask is it that you felt the need for that ending. The only reason I'd be able to think of is a sequel. Othersie i see little "reason" for it.
Author's Response: As much as this may look like an Inu-Kik piece, its not. It's an Inu-Kags piece and it's based on reality and not the "Happily Ever After at any cost" scenario. Will that make people enjoy it less? Maybe, but then again, that's why I'm not the only IY writer on the net. I write angst and I stand by that. I will take a wild guess and say that you didn't like this one, lol. Sorry, but I loved it, and in the end, I write for myself first and my lovelies second. So, in essence, that is my "reason" for ending it the way I did. Thanks for reading. ^^

what a great ending. i kinda have mixed feelings, cuz, well.... poor kagome. she's all alone. hopefully that won't be forever. but, the idea of them meeting in their dreams is a comforting one. i really didn't know how you would end this one. it was def surprising that he stayed with kikyou. o.O but it worked and made the mood really bittersweet... i always have trouble with bittersweet. (you do it so well) lol hope you write more on ever after soon. i love that fic!

She's not a homewrecker and sometimes you don't always get what you want, ya know? That's the point of this. Love is the gift of letting go. If you love something, you set it free. Hey! I thought that you said the story would never ever be Inu/Kik! But that's how it ended! But in all fairness, Kikyo wasn't actually "in" the story, so it's all good. I guess life doesn't always dish happy endings. But it was beautiful nevertheless.

And yes, I allude to Kikyou, but she is NOT in the fiction at all. This was about loving and being loved in the wrong space and time. It hurts, but it's not really a bad hurt. ^_^

i didn't like the ending. what point is there to Inuyasha marying Kikyo when he loves Kagome. screams affair to me. It would've been better if Inuyasha came back for Kagome like I'm sure he wants to. I men, what married man tells a woman not his wife that he loves her? Maybe you should make an alternate ending where he comes back for Kagome.
Author's Response: Well, I'm sorry you didn't care for the ending, but that is the ending. This fic is based on something and the way it ends is true to what it was based on. So, there will be no alternate endings or re-writes. It's an angst piece, as stated in the credits. So, readers should expect angst. Thanks for reading and commenting. ^^

What? They no get together? I'm gonna cry!!! This was just what I needed so I didn't have to do my 20pg paper for another night. It was just so beautifully written, I just don't know what to say. I completely loved it. I am so digging this whole romantic pure love side of you. It makes me feel so wistful, but in a good way.
I just love the Je-Je reference (my pet name for Derek). I love that man sooooooooo much, and even though we completely blew it this year, again, and the Red Sux think they are the shit, and I can't say much about it cause we aint in the playoffs anymore, I love him. So envisioning him fist pumping definitely stopped my tears for a minute.
But back to you and your amazing story. I just can't deal with her being alone and him with Kikyo. I keep tryna figure out who she can be with, and I just won't accept anyone but Yash. You need to do another chapter with Kikyo passing away peacefully, nothing violent, and Yash and Kagome getting together. Cause I just can't deal emotionally with both of their incomplete hearts. Plus I would be damned pissed if my husband was dreaming about some other chick. That's some stuff, writing love letters and crap. Dude must be crazy. Like Keysha said, "It aint where he's at, it's where he wanna be." And it seems like to me that he wanna be with Kagome, so do what u gotta do.
Alright, I'm done with my early morning rambling. Have a good morning when the sun comes up!
Author's Response: Girrrrrl!!!! Can you believe that we got pushed out of the fucking playoffs? Beat by the Indians of all people after we swept them TWICE in the regular season?! I was so annoyed! Do you think they're going to get rid of Torre? I wanted him gone when we blew it to Boston in that awful collapse, but I don't think he's at fault this time. It just sucks that the Blosux will probably get another championship. -.-
Okay, back to the story -heh. I cried a lot writing this one. What's worse is that I cry if I re-read it. It just touched a lot of nerves, but the ending has to stay as it is. It was written this way kinda for a reason, so i won't alter it. But this is probably one of the few stories that I've done that really beats me down and I can't read it over. Then that song, it holds special meaning, so it really tears my heart apart. >.<
It's just meant to be bittersweet and I don't want to take away from that. You know, I didn't know I had a "pure love" side, lol. I must be getting soft 'cause you know I love me some hardcore angst! But lately, I've been feeling kinda mushy. Hell, I'm just glad I wrote something. I haven't been inspired at all lately, and this one had been half-written for months because I couldn't bring myself to finish. But here it is, so here's to hoping that I don't cry again. >.

Heartbreaking, simply heartbreaking. It's a sad but true fact that love doesn't always work out. Very bittersweet, excellent and emotional work. And I enjoyed the little allusions to the canon anime, it was a nice relief from the sadness of the actual story. Well done.
