The Blahs….
Yeah, I have the “blahs” right now. I haven’t been doing much writing, as I’ve been obsessed with Young Spock (as I’m sure you all know by now!), but I did work a bit on my anniversary fic last night. Nothing major, though. I also worked on the last chapter of Ever After, so I’m hoping to post that in a couple of days just to wrap it up. I don’t know… I need to inject some IY love into my veins, but I’m so sick of the shitty parts of this fandom that enthusiasm is hard to come by. I also have stuff to do for Eternal Destiny, like read the contest entries and start preparing the new skin. I got the draft for the art back from the ever-so-awesome RighteousRed and fuck me, it’s gorgeous. Exactly what I wanted for this skin, so huzzah to the tenth! 😀
In other news, I finally got my package from the post office, and gee, it only took a FULL week for them to find it! 😛 Color me lucky! *wipes sarcasm from my chin* But I won’t complain, at least I have it and they’re so kawaii. I posted the pics for Am to see in my other thread, but I’ll post them here, too. These are from The Edge of Seventeen -the chapter when they first met. (I have no idea why Onna chose that chap. They weren’t wearing anything particularly nice, but that’s what she wanted and Notoes did a great job re-creating them!)
Butt tags with my fic and penname.
Cute, huh? I commissioned her for another one for my anniversary fic, and she has already started setting up. I’m super giddy -he’s going to be SO kawaii. I’m also looking into another special doll for another fic, but I need to find out if she can do it first. Wow. Before I know it, I’ll have something for all of my favorite stories! 😀
Hugs and glomps to my Onna for such an awesome birthday present! <3333 I'm on a Placebo kick again. I just downloaded all of their videos, and I can't begin to explain how disappointed I am that "Days Before You Came", one of their greatest songs ever, has no video. I had to settle for a fanmade video of them at an outdoor concert and it sucks. I mean, the group sounded great, but the quality of the video is garbage. Sigh. They're coming out with a self-released CD in June, and it sucks that they don't have a major label right now. However, I'm grateful that they have the means to get their music out there anyway. Steve, the drummer, left and they have this young guy that's all sleeved -he doesn't really fit to me- but as long as the music is good, I'm happy. Thus far, I'm not wild about the 2 singles they've released, but a lot of their best songs weren't singles, so... and while I can easily download their new album when it's out, I'm going to actually buy it, because like Coheed & Cambria and the other small bands that I love, I have to support the cause. Oh, and a word on Lost. The next season will be the last and I'm really curious as to how it will all end. I won't give up spoilers, but the cliff was an interesting one. I also found a Lost forum on eljay, and while the majority of it was fun and filled with theories, gee fucking whiz. I got a taste of the shitty side of that fandom! There were a few pouncing all over this chick that had a few choice words for Juliet and it reminded me of the childish behavior exhibited in IY fandom when you DARE to say something against one of the "beloved" characters or attempt to take your thoughts/opinions in a different direction. It was an absolute turn off and it reminded me why I’m determined to have IY fandom be my first and last. It’s apparent that people can’t be adults about certain things (like the fact that these people/characters don’t fucking exist and can’t be hurt by anyone’s opinion of them >.>) and must automatically get into name-calling and other behavior that reminds us all that they’re in the 4th grade. Ungh.
Anyway, enough for now. I’m ghost. Enjoy the pic.

Oh InuGrrrl, when will you learn not to touch the fandoms? I saw it with wrestling, and I saw it with Buffy, and if I go to any random IMDB message board I’ll see it there too. When fans of anything form in large groups, and especially when they can be anonymous on the Internet, they become incapable of acting like rational adults and devolve into raging douchemonkeys obsessed with righting everything that’s wrong with their favourite show, and Pesci help anyone foolish enough to get in the way.
You’d be fine if you just stuck to the ED forum, and pretended the rest of the Internet didn’t exist.

Oh noes!! The Dreaded BLAHS!! *races about in panic*
Total suckage to have especially with the weather getting nicer every day. I’d say we all need a healthy injection of Good IY Fandom these days. The entries have me giggling…. people love Hawaii! I can’t wait to see the new skin for ED!! *bounces* and relieved that RR has internet again!
Still trying to find out if she got either payment I sent her.
*bounces even more* That is AWESOME!! So very awesome to hear that you finally got your package!! They are very cute!! Notoes is wickedly awesome!! That sounds wonderful! Having a character from each of your stories!
Really? wow…. I am loving their sound as well! And Fall Out Boy! Freaky thing happened! I can now play CDs on my comp… again. For nearly a year it was impossible! Still can’t play DVDs without the Blue Screen of Death but it means I can go out and buy CDs again!
Been seriously put out by finding the cost of the Distrubed concert tickets being 304.00 CDN and that the Town decided to stick them into the Colliesum! That place has the suckiest acoustics and echo effect!
I guess whatever fandom you enter there will always be asshats and rotten jerks to ruin it for those who actually enjoy it all because they wish to take it to extremist levels of reality. *shrugs* Though it must be awfully nice to have all that time available to them to do this.
Depeche Mode said it nicely in their song “People are People” and I like the lyrics in “Standing There” – You did get that email for the song I hope.
You ghost and enjoy your peace and quiet. I’ll be lying in wait with the Spider Monkey Glomps!

:hugggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg:
Welcome to fandom!! LOL Yep, most of the fandoms have that fantastic characteristic, and more. Only in another one, although not so much now… most of the people I knew do not write anymore, but Escaflowne’s had a bit of that too. Sadly. And then you ask yourself why do we kill each other in a war… pffft, look at fandoms… the discussions and fights are about fictional characters and situations, drag by people that don’t know each other. Thank goodness the only key we can press is delete… otherwise…
Very happy that you’ve got your dolls. They are BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Hope to know more about you but know that you have a lot of things in hands so…
I’m sending you a bigggggggggggggggggg-hugggggggggggggggeeeeeeeeee-hugggggggggggggggggggggg
Did you get the squeezing???? LOL
LOVE UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!

Nik!!
I’m only now catching up on my blog messages. I may have the blahs, but it hasn’t stopped me from being busy. Work is taking off, and this is my one week when I don’t have anything pressing to do. Well, no not true. I have the dentist and another appointment. Other than that, I’ll be free to read contest entries and work on the new skin. I’ve received the art from Red, and holy shit, did she ace it. It’s perfect -exactly what I wanted. I think you’re going to like it! 😀
Didn’t Notoes do a great job? I loved Kagome’s hair, lol. (The way she makes it stick up just right!) Yasha is really cute, too. In person, his bangs are calmer and she even remembered that I don’t like forelocks! She’s da bomb! I’m getting two more from her. Squee!
How much is that is American money? Disturbed is good, but they’re not commanding that kind of cash here AT ALL. In fact, they did the meadowlands (big arena) with Killswitch Engage and a few others (like a festival) and tix were only $65 or something. Hell, I only pay $35-40 for Coheed tickets here. Maybe they’re doing that because it’s a big venue and you guys don’t get to see them often? But for a big amount, I really hope they have more bands with them. >.>
You’re right. Every fandom has jerks in it and that’s what makes them a turn off. Can’t say I really regret IY fandom -it gave me awesome friends (like you!) and fantastic lovelies, but the other half of that totally makes me wish I had never picked up a pen. This much venom over characters that don’t exist is a little much for the average sane person.
I haven’t checked mail yet, but DM always says the right things. 😛 When I look at fandom, Linkin Park’s “Numb” comes to mind.
“All I want to do is be more like ME and less like YOU.”
Being the “different” one and shunning cliques and “BNFuckery” can really get you on a lot of shit lists. But you know what? I like it there. I’d rather be real than kiss up to a bunch of nobodies for fleeting fandom fame. Those that are my friends will be my friends regardless, and those who aren’t, exactly when did I need them?
*steals a spider monkey glomp before ghosting away*

I totally love Danga. TOTALLY! LOLOLOL!!!!
You always know when I need to laugh! You’re right. I should stick to ED’s dead forum and stay away from these rabid douchemonkeys! (Totally love that word!) But I’m innocent! I found them by accident when looking at icons and thought it would be interesting to see the theories (all 6,000 of them!), and then, wham. I see that post and realize that this is just another “fandom” and I hightailed it. That’s why I don’t want to post any S/U fics that I may write. I don’t need another snarling fandom at my heels, because you know me, I will make mince meat of canon no matter where I go. (Though, the story I want to write now is solid canon, that won’t last. We both know it.) I don’t need a bunch of trekkies gunning for me!
But now I want to visit the IMDB forums and watch people act a fool over movies…

MAMA HEN!
I think you know me too well. I was going to mail you tonight since it’s been a while! *HUUUUUUUUUGS*
I’m doing okay, if not a little busy with work and upcoming ED stuff. I still haven’t read all of the contest entries thus far, plus I have to consult with judge #2 (I always keep more than one judge because I know I can be biased as far as what I like or don’t like in a story. Having 2-3 evens things up a bit.), but it’s coming along.
And shankies! Notoes did a great job. Wait until you see the latest one I ordered -she already started working on it. Squee! Soon I’ll have a little collection. I’ll need to get another digi cam so I can take pics of all of them together.
*Nods about the fandoms* It really is a wide-spread sickness, the snarky, douchebaggery within fandom. It was easy to think that only IY had it (Though I still say we have the worst of it), but seeing it happen elsewhere really makes you sigh because idiots insist upon taking anonymity to ridiculous heights. And yups, I’ve been using the delete key a LOT. I’ve withdrawn from a lot of the social stuff regarding fandom. I’m all but gone from LiveJournal, and I’m not participating in anything, really. As for the sites, now I have a zero tolerance policy thanks to that last incident. From the very start, if I think a person will be a problem for me, I’m tossing them. I don’t want anymore bullshit with these people who don’t pay my bills and owning the sites gives me that right. But if they’re there to post, read, and have fun, I’m pure sugar with them. 😀
How are you?? How is everything?? I’m still going to mail you!
*HUUUUUUUUUUUUGS*
Love you! <3333333333

$304 Canadian is like $260 US. I have no idea how Disturbed is asking for that much though. Hell, I don’t even think Ozzy, Alice Cooper, or the Rolling Stones were asking even half of that. I know ACDC is like $99. And if Nikkie lives where I think she lives, the Coliseum isn’t very big at all. At least I don’t remember it being big when WWF used to come to it.

Oh… you… are… shitting… me!!
$260 to see disturbed?! Oh hell naw. Like I said, it was roughly $65 for the Meadowlands and that was them PLUS 3 other bands. $260?! I wouldn’t pay that much to see anyone. Like when Madonna came to the Garden. That tard was asking up to $400 bucks a ticket, and she can’t even sing well. No way. Ever. I love Disturbed, but I’m not delusional. They can’t even book a big venue on their own -they play small places like the Hammerstein and Nokia. If people are smart, they won’t pay it.

To be fair, that had to be a price from a scalper. There’s no way any band in their right mind would charge that much for tickets in Atlantic Canada and expect to sell anything.
