Remembering John…
My mother was a Beatles fan, and growing up, I learned to like a few songs myself. Today is the anniversary of John Lennon’s death, so I thought it would be fitting to play my mom’s favorite song from his solo works.

Yeah, I grew up listening to the Beatles myself. My favorite thing growing up was hearing songs of my mom’s youth. I really liked listening to this song called Yesterday by the Beatles. I didn’t know that he passed on this day but may he rest in peace.

When I was growing up my dad was the stay at home parent because he has a back disability and that was one of the bands we listened to together. I can still remember the first album I listened to: “Sergeant Peppers lonely hearts club band” which is my favorite to this day. LOVE “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds”.

Hey Linds!
I remember that song, but not every much. My mom had a few of their albums and I think she played it. I like the silly early stuff, like “I wanna hold your hand”. That’s fun! Eleanor Rigby is also a good song, but it’s older, I think. Like the 60’s. It was kinda insane the way he was killed and that pic is really famous. I always liked it cause he had on an NYC t-shirt!

Kimmy!
Yeah, I listened to my mom’s old faves, too. Like “Stomp” by The Brother’s Johnson, or “I Want You” by Marvin Gaye, stuff by the OJays like “The Backstabbers”.
“What they do?! They smile in your face, all the time they wanna take your place! The backstabbers! Backstabbers!”
LOLOL. She would sing that to me and I’d just crack up. Dang! Now you got me turning on the itunes and digging out some of her faves! lol. I can see this is already gonna be a great day!
