Cycle’s End.
I’m finally nearing the end of this cycle of depression I’ve been having, and ironically, it’s just 3 weeks shy of the anniversary of my mom’s death. I’m usually leveled by the time that date rolls around, but I decided to stop letting it kill me last year and I have no plans on reverting. I also have no more plans to spread myself thin or involve myself in online stuff that doesn’t have a direct connection to me. My eagerness to help, befriend, and be there for others have come back to bite enough times that I’m locking the castle doors. It’s enough now.
I’ll turn to a friend
Someone that understands
Sees through the master plan
But everybody’s gone
And I’ve been here for too long
To face this on my own
Well, I guess this is growing up
Moving on.
I’ve redecorated my fiction site. I commissioned this guy to do some art for me (you probably saw it elsewhere already), and with the out-of-this-world talent of Neo and Amber, I have 2 new skins that I really love. SQUEE! I haven’t made them available for viewing yet, but I will soon, and before the mistake is made, NO, that isn’t Kagome. Other than the gift header that Neo made for me a while back of InuYasha and Kagome dancing (art courtesy of RighteousRed), I don’t put females on my website that aren’t me.
Anyway, making new skins really breathes new life into the place for me. It’s like reinvention and makes everything “fresh” again. I really do love my site; it’s a fantastic place to call home. I’ll miss it when I stop writing IY fanfic.
*sighs happily*
I’m still on a manga kick, but one in particular really has my attention and I’m even thinking of doing a oneshot for it. But, we’ll see. I’ve never written for anyone except InuYasha, but I really like the male lead in this manga and he’s giving my longtime love some competition!
I’ve also done some writing for Knife of Romance, but I’ll be honest, I’m struggling with the fics. All of them. I’ve been out of it for a while now, but don’t take that as the beginning of the end. This has happened before and then I went on a tirade with a slew of updates for Hikari and completed three fics. Just take it as, when the dam finally breaks, you’ll get bombarded. 😛
That’s all for today. I’ll try to finish something this weekend. Not sure what, but…
