IG Citrus
So, I wrote a lemon last night, and by the time it was all said and done, the lemon ALONE was about 3200+ words. And I still have the rest of the chapter to write. o.O
It kinda occurred to me that all my lemons are long like that. It’s, like, super rare when I have one that’s short, and the bad part is that I don’t even know why! I’m not purposely finding ways to extend the citrus (I actually dislike doing lemons, so I’m definitely not trying to prolong my torture). That’s simply the way I write them.
I’ve been writing them that way almost since the beginning, but I think I “came into my own” when I wrote Rebound (and that was late 2005, so I mean it when I say it’s always been this way). It makes me wonder if I’m doing too much in a lemon scene. O.O I don’t necessarily feel like I am. I’m just thorough (without really meaning to be), but that’s only the way I’m seeing it.
Do y’all think my lemons should be shorter and less detailed? New Poll!
Not to say that I’m going to change my style for anyone. This is me and Imma “make it do what it do”, but I’m just curious….
And I got one of my commissions back. OMG, Yasha looks so hot he melted my fucking screen! But, you know, eye of the beholder and shit. I’ve been seeing lately that some people’s opinion of what is awesome >.> severely differs from what I think looks good. I’ve passed it to Neo for a header, so expect to see it on Absolution shortly. 😛
