I can't believe I could remember most of the French. Girl, the only French anything that I've experienced since sixth grade is kissing and fries :P All and all, I loved it!!

Author's Response: I had to give the translations, or we'd ALL be lost! xD I'm not huge in my french; I barely remember it so this was done on some memory and some research, but it had the effect I wanted for the chap. The end got kinda fiery, eh? LOL. Well, he's drunk as a skunk, so that's his excuse for being so totally brazen. I don't know a single male that doesn't get "amorous" when he's sauced. And yesh, no curses and no sex yet. Will there be sex? *nods* But even then, it won't be the raunch that I normally write. This just isn't that kind of story. The film was very subtle, so hard sex wouldn't fit. >.<
I haven't seen LTE yet. Did you update it? I haven't been to ED at all except for mandatory stuff.

Author's Response: Thanks for popping in! :D I knew the french would be out of the box, but Yasha did give y'all a hint in the last chapter when Kags asked if he spoke it and he said "a bit". If you remember, when asked if he played the violin, he said, "a little". He's a sneak, that's what he is!
There won't be a lot of french in this. Mine is horrifically rusty and I was never that great with it anyway. xD But I wanted that for him since in the movie, the lead male spoke german. Glad you liked the chapter, though. :D

okay, reading marathon going on since the power has been out and the winds are trying to blow us away! i read the basic premise of "ladies in lavender" and was sure i was going to cry. now i know you said "loosely" but i think i'm still gonna cry. i just know something or someone is gonna happen to inuyasha while he's out with kohaku. and then the tears, an the misery and the *sniff* don't mind me...lack of sleep makes me emotional! i am so loving this!

Yeeeeeeeeees!! They had their first kiss! That was amazing...I think its so sweet that the age meant nothing to InuYasha and look forward to the later chapters exploring this new thing they've begun. Poor Kagome, though. She thinks she's falling in love but she's waaaaaaaaaay past that ;)
But ah! Sango is on to them. That can't be good, though I loved how sweet and sad their discussion was. My heart bled when Kagome asked how she could be anything else but naive. It put into perspective that she's really helpless to stop her emotions. But at least she doesn't have to! He likes her back! I was happy about that and that InuYasha gave his take on the situation. And back to the kiss...
"It wasn't rushed or frenzied like two teenagers in a locked basement. This was ardent and emotional, like the rise of the morning sun after a crippling storm"
Must've been hot then ;)
Lol....I loved this. The fluff has me grinning like a crazy person on this end. The way she tried to avoid it, almost pushed him away by "insulting him", his holding her hand, the embrace, etc...it was beautiful.
Can't wait to read what happens next!

I was looking forward to your review. :P I so had you (and my Onna) in mind when I was writing that fluff because I knew you were looking forward to it -so I'm glad I delivered! This story is at it's halfway point, and come hell or high water, I plan to wrap her up by 12 chapters. The movie itself isn't all that long, so I think I've actually made it much longer by adding all of my extra background stuff. But hey, I think it's working. xD
Sango, well... Sango is on to Kagome, not the both of them. She doesn't know anything about how Yasha feels. Also, I really did want to give more of the story from his POV. The majority will still be from the sister's side of things, but you will definitely get more about what he's thinking than you did before. Lots more.
The kiss. I have a certain style of writing this that's different from the way I normally write (and that's on purpose), so I wanted to try and get y'all to "feel" the kiss, more than give it in sordid detail. Now, that's not to say I won't be more detailed in later chapters, but that decided element of raunch that I use in my sex will be missing. I mean, I really don't think describing their "fuck" is going to work here. >.>

Oh wow! That was totally awesome! It was beautiful. Inuyasha has the hots for her. I do hope they get together, unlike the film. I did go and read a synopsis.
He sure was forward. I'm glad because she never would have approached him. And, I hope nothing bad happens at the bar. I'm sure he will meet people who may interfere. He should take the violin! That would be cool.

The pub is kind of pivotal in the movie, so that's all I can say. 0.~ And I will share that in the movie, he does take his violin, lol. Funny that you mention that!
The Kohaku character is patterned after someone that had a bit part (and he wasn't a tailor, lol), but I needed to expand him a bit to serve my purposes. So I'm glad you liked him!

So at first I'm sitting here thinking; this doesn't seem like Kiki. With the backdrop and the older main character, it felt like a common romance novel my mum would enjoy XD But there was something subtle in it that drew me in anyway. Something in the middle of this completely different tone that was still you, but just a more sophisticated, mature you. Every line of text is fluid and rich - I dunno what it is; I know I haven't been keeping up to date with your recent stuff, but it's like you have suddenly improved. Maybe its because of the mature tone of the fic - or maybe this more crafted style is responsible for the tone...either way, they work together beautifully.
I didn't quite expect this when I finally decided to start catching up! I can tell you're into this; and far out - every time you take a risk and do something different you hit a home run. It's not violent, funny, rutheless or very exciting...and still...i want to read more. You have me captivated with a story from which I wasn't hoping for much. I didn't expect to 'lose my heart so thoroughly' =p

Author's Response: Ax! Well, thank you very much. Can't turn my nose up at being told I've improved, that's for sure. :) You're right. This story has a decidedly different tone and approach, but if you look hard enough, you'll still find me in there (and you did). The movie it's based on is exactly what you said: It's not funny, violent, overly dramatic, pornish, or any of those things. It was a very subtle film, and I wanted the fiction to flow the same way. I took a lot of liberties -A LOT- to make it my own story, for the most part, so if you ever come across the film, you'll see the similarities, but I've expanded and changed many things. Glad to see my changes have worked!
I kind of like writing older woman/younger male stories just because I like showing that the older female can still get the beauty, too. After all, older men chase young girls all the time. Call it some payback! xD But again, thanks for such a nice review. I'm glad this one snagged ya; I certainly didn't expect it to.

But, BIG developments in this chapter. First, Sango broke it down to Kagome, so there is no confusion about how much she knows. And then, Kagome finds out that Inuyasha apparently has the same feelings for her. Talk about unexpected. I can't waqit to read more!

Sango is something, isn't she? She totally had kagome's number, but aside from being sisters, they've been living together for about 15 years. That's a long time to learn to read someone.
And InuYasha was a bit unexpected, but if you've noticed, I did throw in little hints that he dug her -like the first time he played the violin. When he decided to play his own song, he stared at her the whole time. Or when he wanted her to shave him. All of those were little flags. It's funny; she thought he'd never be interested, and he thought the same about her. It's quite cute and adolescent, huh? :D

This stuff, though, is all me. In the movie nothing ever happens between them, so hooray for renditions. And I'm glad you liked the fluff! With this one, I really want to be heavy on the sweetness because the characters deserve it. I'm not even using foul language or anything. It's a very mild fic for me. O.O
