Title: Yearnings of a Lonely Heart

I can already see the angst between Kagome and Sango. Sango wants a son, and Kagome...well, she's found a possible lover. I can tell the next chapter is going to be interesting! Kagome is finally going to have to be alone with Inuyasha, despite her tries to ignore him. Sango's character is very rigid, I'm glad you made her a little less than in the movie (no, I haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm looking into it now) I understand the genre it comes from, sometimes, it's just hard to get into. I tend to stick with more action and drama than just straight classic romance (but it is nice sometimes).

Author's Response: I wouldn't call it exactly angst, but they're definitely looking at his presence from 2 different points of view. I recently discovered that the movie is based on a short story, so I found it and read it. Well, she is VERY rigid in the story, way more than in the movie, and I've made her basically butter in comparison to both. So I think she's probably at her softest here. Plus, I changed a lot of things. Like all of the stuff with Miroku from the details about their marriage, to the ring, and all of that? All my doing because I wanted her to have a method to her madness and not just be bitter for no reason. InuYasha brings her joy and provides her with a happiness she didn't think she'd ever have. He does the same for Kagome, but >.> not in the same way. Hehe...

And I totally understand about the genre. Ladies in Lavender is not a movie I'd ever watch normally. But it came on, I wasn't doing anything at the time, and I love Judi Dench, so it was all win. :D It's a nice change of pace with writing, too, since it's so different from all of my other fictions. Thanks for sticking it out!

Damn you!!  You started the water works again with that bit about Sango and Miro and the ring :P.  That was beautiful!  Well, what can I say that I haven't already said on IM tonight.  Beautiful, just beautiful.

Author's Response: Awww, sowwy! xD If it's any consolation, I felt it, too, girl! Angst and sadness will always be my strongest suite, I think. >.>

Title: Disclosing the Gift

Sango is starting to seem agitated over the whole situation, though I can't blame her, having loved and lost she knows what she could have, while Kagome is living in blissful fantasycamp.  I wonder who the strange woman is going to be though.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review, sweets. :D Sango's character in the movie is pretty rigid, but she does have some lots of soft moments. I'm taking the liberty of expending on that softness, because for me, she was just a smidge too hard. Kagome is, for lack of a better term, torn. She's not willing to accept the reality of her situation, yet, she's falling into it face first anyway. In the film, I think she realizes that she loves him from the second she saw him, and eventually, I think this Kags will, too. ^_^

Title: Disclosing the Gift

So, what exactly is going on between Kagome and Inuyasha? I wish they'd talk some more...or at least Kagome talk to Sango. I'm still stuck guessing here! (Which, by the way, goes well with the story). There are so many levels to this story and you are handling all of them expertly! Can't wait for more. I love all the updates at once!

Author's Response: Glad to see that I've improved from chapter 1! :D I know, they don't talk a lot. They communicate more with body language than anything else (in the film, there's a language barrier), but worry not. They will spend more time together. Right now, Kagome has been trying to sort out her feelings and doesn't really trust herself around him for obvious reasons. But we still have enough chapters to get the fire started, I swear! :P

Title: Tempestuously Drawn

Oh wow, I am loving the progression of their relationship. I want to know more of whats going on in Inuyasha's mind. You're teasing us with little glimpses!!! I want more! This story is getting better and better!

Author's Response: Unfortunately, this story is told more from the sister's view, HOWEVER, we'll get to see what InuYasha's thinking somehow. xD I like how shy Kagome is around him. She's 50 years old and he can make her blush at the drop of a dime. She's so afraid of him, yet completely drawn to him. I find it endearing, lol. Thanks for sticking with me! :D

Title: An Enigma Awakens

I love the confusion that has already come into play in Kagome's actions and feelings towards Inuyasha. She's already noticing the age difference, and the stigma's implied, though she hasn't gone into detail yet. This chapter was easier to get into and easier to read.

Author's Response: Oh yeah, the age barrier is her entire issue. She realizes that she's much too old for him, and yet, she knows she's attracted, and possibly falling. She's fighting it and drowning in it all at once. Gotta love all of the confusion! :D (Glad this chap was easier for you, too!)

Title: Pearls on the Beach

I'm wondering about this story. It's deff harder to read than some of your others...but I think it will pick up soon. It had a long, and sad start to it, that's for sure. I hope everythings well on your end. It's so good to see you jump back in and come up with (was it 3?) new chapters, to a new story so quickly! I've missed you!

Author's Response: Shina! ^_^ I know, the start to this is slower than my norm. But I needed to establish some of their backgrounds so that certain upcoming scenes make sense. Usually, my fictions revolve around InuYasha: His POV, his situations, etc. This is story is more about Kagome and Sango, which is a huge switch for me. The movie it's based on is a British film, and if you're familiar with their stuff, it's not action-oriented most times, lol. That's why I'm taking a lot of liberties with the way I tell it. But in the end, I guess you can call this an "old-fashioned romance" kinda fic (so bear with me!).

Aside from the story, I'm pretty good. Just lying low and writing. How are you?? How is the family and school? I hope everyone is doing well, and life isn't dragging you down. Thanks for popping in and giving this a read -even if it is kinda different. :D

Title: Disclosing the Gift

Shiori is amazing! I love her character. She's so "no-nonsense" about everything, like dragging Jaken over and forcing him to play. And oh my God! "I concur...The view is lovely." You're turning me to mush...I had to cover my mouth to stop from squealing when I read that. I love it.

I really liked the piano scene, too. I always thought you wrote the brothers (InuYasha and Sesshomaru) amazingly but you do just as well with sisters, it seems. That Kagome can sit and endure Sango's horrible playing (and even asks her to do it) really reflects the kind of relationship they have. It was cute and reminded me of how I used to beg my brother to play guitar for me when I was little (except he was pretty good, lol).

And awwwwwwwwww! InuYasha got to keep the violin! That was nice of Jaken. But lets hope he doesn't attract any more visitors. I imagine that one ishere to be the "witch in the fairytale" (like the trailer said). But even if she isn't, I'm eager to read what happens next!

Oh! And I have the movie downloading onto my laptop (I couldn't find it on TV) but I'm not watching it until I finish this. I'm excited! From this story (though you've taken a bunch of liberties) and what I saw from the trailer it looks like it'll be really good. I can't wait to ssee what I recognize from here when I watch it. Should be fun.

Amazing chapter as always, and you're pumping these out FAST too! I'll be looking out for the next!

~Am

Author's Response: Am! :D Thanks for a great review. I'm so happy you're having fun with this. I love Shiori (just as I loved "Dorcas" in the film). I gave her a lot more lines and made her more involved with InuYasha than she is in the movie, but like I said, liberties. xD

Kagome and Sango's relationship is really unique (again, like in the film). Sango is the more intolerant of the two. She has that "grain of salt" persona, but you'll see soon that she's not nearly as rigid as she sometimes appears. I've switched a lot of things, expanded, rewrote some stuff entirely, but I'm happy with the end results thus far.

In the film, InuYasha's character got to "borrow" the violin, but in this, I said, what the hay, lol. As for the woman, I'm going to keep her completely true to how I viewed her in the film. Not many changes there so... that's all I'm going to say. >.> The movie is great. I had my friend, Liz, watch it today and she cried, too, lol. We're some sobbing things, I tell ya! Hopefully, when you do see it, you enjoy it as much as we did. :D

Title: Disclosing the Gift

Aww, Inuyasha is a musician! That's awesome. :P Could he be any more perfect.  I've always wished I could play something, especially piano, but oh well.  Cest la vie. Do you play anything?

I'm excited to learn more about Inuyasha's past.  And poor Kagome...she's really struggling with her feelings.  She doesn't recognize them for what they are and things aren't going to get much easier when she finally does.

Happy Writing!

Author's Response: Isn't Yasha great? :D In the movie, I went apeshit the first time he played. It's a pivotal part of the film because you literally watch the lead actress fall in love with him. Judi Dench is so fab, Tina. I've always loved her and this film made me an even bigger fan. Just by watching her watch him, you see her losing her soul. (I changed that scene a bit so that he was staring at her because, ya know, romance and all. :P )

I used to play the flute when I was a kid. Pretty well, too, but then I lost interest. Don't regret it, either.

In the film, you never find out about the boy's background outside of the country where he hails (Poland), so I probably won't be delving too deeply into that either. But I'll try to make the last 6 chapters entertaining. :D Kagome, well, her sonic boom is coming...

Okay, you already know how much I love this piece.  I really want to see that movie now, however, unfortunately, my daughter wants to go to the mall *sigh*.  So I'll save it for later :D  Anyway, on to the gushing.  I FUCKIN LOVE THIS!!!  I can't wait for the next installment.  I am wondering what is up Sango craw?  Has she a clue about her sister and guests' growing attraction to each other?  Or is there perhaps something more to it?  *waggles brows*  Okay, I promise not to stink up the WAFF with my sick perversions :D

Author's Response: Girl, You're so outta hand! xD I'm halfway through chapter 5, and you'll learn more about Sango's deal. I've got roughly 5 more chapters before I put this one to sleep, so let's hope that I do it right and at least stay a little true to the movie. AND I CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR WHAT YOU THINK OF THE MOVIE! xD (I'm right there with ya, girl. Hehe...)

Hmm! A mystery! Poor boy who sold everything to get to America, but can play the violin super-well... I wonder where he comes from?

Author's Response: Well, it's a little bit of a mystery. xD He plays extraordinarily well, like a prodigy (as he was in the movie), and that's important to the story. In the film, you never really find out where he came from, though you know he's Polish. That's part of the overall beauty of the film; he just appears, changing the lives of everyone he meets.

Thanks for popping in!

Author's Response: Neechan! <33 Yesh, he plays the violin in the film, so of course I had to include it. His talent is pivotal to the story. I'm having having a blast, really. That's why I'm just writing away. I listen to the music from the soundtrack, and watch the movie (it's on my comp) in between to stay focused and cherry pick what parts of the story I want to expand on. This is by far one of my faves because it's based on a personal love (the movie!). :D Hooray for inspiration!

It's been really nice penning this so far. I'm having such a great time describing the emotions and playing with the characters' lives. ^_^ Thanks again for the review!

Author's Response: Thanks, Snow! I like the pace, too. I'm not rushing, but I'm not dragging, either. This is one of the truly comfy fics where I can just play with them without worrying about anything. And yes, everyone is human. Since it's based on a film, I'm not touching the demon aspect at all. The next chapter is almost written -huzzah! :D

Lol...I saw the trailer for Ladies in Lavender! The guy InuYasha's based off of is a cutie, as is Inu's character himself. I love how it was Kagome's name he used to test his voice and the trick he thought to play on her. And his (innocent?) displays of affection towards her are sweet. Pretty obvious who the favorite sister is (maybe next time, Sango ;P)

I'm interested to see why Kagome thinks she's overweight though and if her ballet experience has anything to do with it. Its already made her "sensitive" as Sango pointed out before.

And its endearing how she's almost scared of her feelings. Maybe her housegest can help her with that? Definetely looking forward to what the future holds in store for this story. Its really got me hooked!

~Am

Author's Response: YAY!!! Am saw the trailer!!! Isn't he a doll? I totally fell for him in that movie, and that made it so easy to stick Yasha in his place. :D

I like my InuYasha in this, I really do. He's such a cute, sweet guy and yes, his innocent affection comes across so adorably. You don't get all of that in the film, but Daniel Bruhl is sweet in it, so that was enough for me to build Yasha.

And you pegged it! Kagome is afraid of her feelings for several reasons, and she's running away from them by telling herself they're something different. So when she thinks, "I don't know why I'm feeling so and so", she really doesn't. It's like her mind is just refusing to register the truth. I also love how you picked up on the weight thing -which I will address later on in the story. :D Thanks for being so awesome and catching the hints! <3

Wow, you are updating so fast! I love it.

I wasn't sure what to expect from Inuyasha when he woke up.  I thought he might be rude and Inuyasha-ish, but I am pleasantly surprised.  I really like his personality in this story. Respectful and polite, no wonder Kags can't seem to stay away from him. :P

But is Sango possibly feeling something for Inuyasha too? I sense drama on the horizon.

But hurrah! Inuyasha can talk!

Happy Writing! Now back to studying for my calculus midterm. :( 3 hours to go till I have to write it.

Author's Response: Tina!! I am updating pretty quickly, huh? My hands are paying for it a little, but I'm having so much fun and the ideas are fresh in my head; I don't want to waste them.

InuYasha is awake, and no, he isn't in canon mode at all. (With me, he hardly ever is. I like his rude in-your-face ways, but I like having the liberty of reinventing him. In the film, the boy is a sweet foreigner, and I wanted that for Yasha as well).

No comments on the sisters. xD You'll find out as it progresses, especially since this story won't see past 10 chapters.

Good luck on the mid-term, smart cookie. You'll ace it! <33

Yeeeeeeeeees! He's awake :)

...but he can't talk. Interesting. Its already cute how he's charming them over and how the sisters are doting on him "mother hen" style. *gasp* But is that a rivalry I sense? Like when Sango got angry at Kagome for "worrying" him and her vice versa when she said "darling." Hmmmmm....

Maybe I'll find out in the next chapter.
You're getting these out faster than I can review!

Sweet. And I'm really loving this so far. Its definetely diferent from a lot of whats out there...more daring...but that's the appeal.

*onto the next*

~Amber ;)

Author's Response: Hey Am! Yesh, he's awake and communicating the best way he knows how. I shan't say anything about the sisters and what they think/feel about him. I'll just say that InuYasha is a great guy and I hope you fall in love with him they way I did! :D

And you're right. This is a little daring given the massive age difference and storyline, but the movie was just as daring. However, they played it relatively safe and stuck to their bittersweet roots. Me? I'm expanding and rewriting and taking it in a few directions I would have liked to see. (I hate to say it, cause I'm pure angst, but the romance in that movie and this story just kills! I totally love it.) Thanks for the review! <3

Author's Response: NEVER be sorry for a long review! I love those, plus, it allows me to know you better. :D So, in case I didn't say it before, Welcome to Absolution, Smurfette! ^_^ (She was my favorite smurf, too. lol.)

Now, your review. Thanks so much for giving this story a shot. When I started it, I didn't really expect anyone to read it at all. I usually have certain musts, like InuYasha and Kagome being in their 20's together. However, the movie that inspired this one calls for a much older female, and it was such a beautiful movie that I had to make my own version of it. When you do get to see the film, you'll see just how many liberties I take, but you'll also see how much I kept in. It's actually a bit of a challenge!

And thank you for such a high compliment! My whole point when I write is to entertain, so if I can make a crappy day go away for a little while, I'll consider that the best pat on the back of all. Thanks, again, for reading this one and leaving such a terrific review! <3

Kiki!!!! Positively beautiful story you have got going here!!  I really like the touch of wisdom you put into both Kagome and Sango, they seemed much more relaxed and knowledgeable, direguarding their age and more personality wise (Kagome not so much in the sex department...which I love always about her).  Inuyasha seems kind of exotic right now, then again he always is, I hope he can show Kaggs how to be a real women at a later date  ^_-.  I like the setting, beaches are always a nice atomosphere, and I'm curious as to see how this story actually progresses.  I really like the character's so far the development of their background.  P.S. - How are you lovely?  Is everything going well??  I'm trying my best to time manage but college is just plain work all the time.  When I have a moment to spare I sit here re-reading some of your old stories and I love it everytime I read.  I tell you, I'm super stressed out, and I'm sorry I'm venting but I always like to talk to you.  Until the next time kik!

Author's Response: Paw Print! <3

How are you??? *hugs* Thanks so much for reading. I know it's an unusual story that not many can appreciate, but I'm having a ball hashing it out. I've always been partial to older people. There's just so much less bullshit with them (except the ones in fandom. 0.~), so it's refreshing to write about these 2 dolls and how this young man impacts their humdrum lives.

InuYasha is a bit exotic, when you think about it. They don't know a lot about him except that he has already made a difference in the way they think and behave and that's part of the fun. This isn't going to be a "full of bombshells" kind of fic; it's a simple story about love and sacrifice that I really, really wanted to write, and hopefully, people will enjoy it. :D

And I'm doing well (thanks so much for asking!). I've been concentrating on writing and working and paying a lot less attention to the dumb shit. I'm sorry college is beating you down, but look at the bright side. You're getting it done, and that's more than a lot of people out here can say. When you hold that degree in your hand, it will be well worth the hard times. <3 That said, try not to kill yourself too badly, and pop in more often. I always miss ya when you're away!
