About the story I like that there are conseguences for Inuyasha's decision (not just that he can't be with Kagome) but that he's actually beginning to feel physically ill! SO GOOD. I had to read it all in one sitting, my heart aches so badly!!
I must admit I'm glad things didn't turn out this way in the manga, or at the very least that Kikyou was put to rest. Her still being around here made me a little sick to my stomach. I did LOVE that she's still a creature born of hate; she was so rage-filled through her first appearances, the only thing keeping her mobile, and now after reading this it really makes me a little suspicious about her 'mellowing out' as things went on. That she still doesn't fully trust InuYasha and can so easily go off the deep end in a rage of hate and crazy is so believable.

Author's Response: You rawk! Why? Two reasons:
A) You're among the few people that I feel really "GET" where I was going with this story. I'm not really canon (you know that), but the emotions I was trying to convey -the fact that InuYasha, prone to make mistakes because of his embattled heart, had to pay the steepest price of all is something not many people like to see. B) You see Kikyou's fury and hate the way I do.
Kikyou's rage was so tangible and real (to me, anyway) that I could certainly see her really flipping out, especially when she felt like she was the chosen one. His heart had moved on and all he felt for her was obligation, and, of course, that was unacceptable to her.
Slightly over the top? Just a bit -that's IG for ya- but not so bad for a non-canon chick.

Gods! Kikyou is scary in this fic. :( I don't envy Inuyasha. At the same time there's so much to love about this fic. The interactions between the characters are so wonderful. I loved Miroku getting all sharp and big brotherly. :) Even Sesshomaru's getting in on the act which is really cool. I just love that Sessh/Kagura pairing. Oh and the lemons were really hot. :) It was really sweet when Kagome said she didn't know what to do and then Inuyasha showed her. Gods! I wanted to be her... but no I didn't read much Inu/Kags fanfiction before this though I always had a lot of affection for the pairing. I guess I was too distracted trying to become a better yaoi writer after I lost my love for Sessh/Kags.
Author's Response: OMG, I never saw this review, Sis!! Thank you for reading it. This was one of those stories that just had every worst-case scenario thrown in one. It was cleansing for me, really. My first canon serial, my take on how things "could" end. Of course, with the manga gone such a scenario could never happen, but we didn't know that at the time. For starters I should have probably left a review for this one about a week ago but I couldn't help myself as I had jumped right into part II after reading this one.
I really liked about 95% of the fic, it's hard to pick anything in particular that I loved the most about it, though you had me quite taken with Sesshomaru's finally honoring his brother by watching him on the night of the new moon.
The few parts that irked me a bit would have to be Kikyo's sudden about-face from "love me I want to make things better" to "pick me or die", not that it was completely unexpected but it felt quite sudden. She also seemed a bit overpowered in the end, killing all of them more or less without effort and our favorite girl from the future having to use the jewel + her mate's powers just to hold her ground. That aside I'm not a Kikyo fan so I'm just happy she got what she diserved in the end.
As for Kagome's "secret" I've always wondered, Kagome is a smart girl, she knows what unprotected sex does, wouldn't she get the morning after pill or something (followed by going on actual birth control)? or does she honestly expect our 16th century hero to have the answers? ^.^
Author's Response: Thanks for the review. I'm glad you liked the story for the most part. Kikyou didn't really have an about face. As you saw in the story, she began to lose patience. She wasn't stupid -she knew that InuYasha was harboring feelings for Kagome and she wanted him to stop. So, she tried harder and harder to get him to see things her way. When it became blatantly apparent that he was sleeping with Kagome, her goal changed. She wanted the jewel so that she could live again, for herself, and not just for the love of InuYasha.
As for Kagome's secret, I'm not quite sure what you're getting at. Teenagers having sex >.> I hate to say it, but a good portion of the time they aren't thinking about things like "morning after pills", especially when they don't want their parents to find out that they're having sex. If I do recall, BC costs money and Kags has no job. So to pay a doctor, she'd need to inform her mom. No, that wasn't going to happen. But I also don't understand what you mean by InuYasha having the answers. The answers to what? *scratches head* She simply wanted him to return to her era so she could tell him that she was pregnant. I hope I cleared that up. ^^

Wow! That was so unexpected but wonderful in the midst of all the grief. It seems too cruel to have him leave her, but leave he must... *sigh* I hope that at some point Shippo can forgive Inuyasha. As continuation stories go this is the first I've read that included Kikyo. It broke my heart to see Inuyasha so cowed. I'm curious as to where this will go but my tired brain is insisting I go to bed now. Roll on tomorrow night! :)
