I just want to take Jaden and hug him. Poor little guy. His momma left him in the middle of an emotional upheval the likes of which I don't think she possibly understood. He just wants to be a happy kid.
While some of the characterization (inu) is a little off, Sango is dead on. She would stand by her friend through thick and thin and try to protect her, even against her husband. Good job on that characterization.
Please don't let Kagome walk away. When Inu told Miroku that Jaden was the only reason he hadn't killed himself, it was really painful. She needs to at least let him *try.*
Author's Response: Caity! ^^ Yesh, Jaden is awesome. I love that kid. InuYasha (like all of my stories) isn't IC. You know me by now, girl! I paint him how I see him, which is almost always OOC. Sango, I only see her one way -the tough chick and that's pretty easy to pen. I can't say what's coming in the next chappie, but I hope you stick around for it!! <33

Ok, Inugrrrl, what are you doing. Poor Jaden has me all but crying my eyes out over here. While he hasn't done much (and I hope you have him doing more in this piece. I love little kids!) he needs a big hug. I want to shake Kikyou until she pukes. Sango has me wanting to scream at her. Kagome is an emotional wreck, that I don't think is going to get any better if she doesn't go back home and at least listen to Inu. And Inuyasha - my poor baby Inuyasha - He stood by Kagome when she had a breakdown and now she has left him to deal with all of this by himself.
I know that in the end, your pieces almost always have a happy ending, and angst me to tears through the middle, but these first few chapters are really reving up the ol' tear ducts.

I thought my stomach was going to fall through the chair when Miro told Inu that Sango was preggers....but that was nothing to the little bombshell that you threw at us with that last paragraph. WOW.
Strange that Naraku is so nice to Inu....and calling Kagome, Miss Kagome made me smile. I though us backwards types in the south were the only ones that called people Miss Kagome. :) Guess it is because he has a welder that is willing to work overtime!

This is Kicking!! Literary Goddess! You have me so enthralled!! First Kagome has the misfortune of being unable to carry to term. Then she falls down into the spiral of guilt, self hate and depression. And what happens to too many couples, they only see what is happening to affect them and never see until it's too late that others may be suffering just as badly. Yes Inu screwed up big time, yes there is a child from it, and way yes Kikyou was an evil witch to drop the poor babe off then. But Inuyasha was always the one to support Kagome throughout every single moment. Who did he have to lean on when he needed a shoulder? How did he grieve or Has he been able to grieve? I do love the way this is going and the heart rending reality of it all! Kagome is true to character. She won't let Inuyasha explain but punishes him either like this or by the stupid Rosary but if the situation was reversed She would either use the Rosary to make him listen to her explainations or force him to listen. She seriously needs a good wake up call and I hope this is it. This is beautiful and I am enjoying the reverse situations here... where Inuyasha is bending over backwards and bleeding out for Kagome. The one here who is seriously suffering is Jaden. I'm beginning to wish that someone could take Kagome and smack her upside the head. Yes she has a blow to the ego.. that's it a blow to ego. Jaden is worse off.. Did Kikyou ever tell him he was loved? What did she tell him about his father? What did her sister say to the boy. His fragile mind must be so tramatized. I feel the most for Jaden. She is going to make them both suffer so much before she allows them close to her. I wonder if she'll turn Sango against her husband. Miroku does have his wandering tendancies. A question did they discuss a transplant for Kagome? And what will happen when Onigumo finds out? I don't think that will be good after all he did to help Inuyasha out. Or in the fourth chapter did Inu explain they have a 2 year old to take care of? I can't wait for the next chapter!! ( I hope Inuyasha makes Kagome work for him!!) More please?? You Totally Rock!!

Naraku knows that there was a "family emergency" that will require time off, but InuYasha didn't go into detail. he sort of kept his private life private for the most part. Kikyou was being a wench when she dropped Jaden off, but she had her reasons. Not every treatment option has been discussed with Kagome, but also, there is an issue of money. They aren't struggling, but they don't have serious bank accounts. They're a one income family, a construction income at that, so that's a huge issue. Nope, there hasn't been much insight on Jaden's upbringing and that's for a reason. :P So I think I got all of them.
I, too, am enjoying the role reversal between Inu & Kags. Not that he does terrible things all the time, but he's got so much pride (he still does) and he won't throw it away even for kagome (in the manga) but here, you get to see how deep love can be. I like that. ^_^ New chappie will post in about 2 days.

This is honestly and truly heartbreaking. So much angst, even for you! So, Jaden is going to be able to make Kagome come home even when Inuyasha couldn't. Oh the irony!
And I am extremely surprised at how nice Naraku is in this story. I keep expecting bad things from him. LOL.

OH MY GOODNESS! And I thought the last chapter was bad! Angst is DEFINITELY your niche. There is so much to say about this chapter that I don't even know where to start.
First off, I am no longer torn about which side I'm on. Kagome should DEFINITELY give Inuyasha another chance. God! No man begs and cries to a woman on his knees IN PUBLIC and crawls after her when she walks away unless he loves her more than life itself. A lot of men may do that privately but never where other men could see it and ridicule him FOREVER. Guys are like elephants that way. So, the fact that Inuyasha willingly disgraced himself, sacrificed his male pride for her in that way, says A LOT about how much she means to him. Kagome herself said that Inuyasha never even cried unless the pain was unbearable. Well, he just did a lot more than cry in this chapter. And after this display, if she STILL walks away, there really may be no way back for them. Inuyasha has already apologized in the most humiliating, painful way possible for him.....there is REALLY nothing else he can do. And if the sacrifice of his pride publicly is not enough for her, a part of HIM may start to resent HER. Talk about a razor's edge. And that's just the beginning.
We haven't even dealt Jayden in yet. The kid is adorable. He even managed to charm Sango in less than a minute....and she had just watched her friend cry over his very existence for DAYS. There's nothing like the innocence of a child to put things in proper perspective. The circumstances of Jayden's birth were PAINFUL for everyone involved, Inuyasha, Kagome, AND Kikyo (since it sounds like Kikyo was fighting off some demons of her own the night she and Inuyasha slept together). But, those circumstances have nothing to do with Jayden himself. He is just an adorable baby who needs a good home. He already loves "Yasha" and wants him to be happy even though he doesn't even fully understand that Yasha is his father and what that even means. Yet, this kid was willing to run up to a woman who had yelled at him and scared him when they first met......because he knew that Inuyasha wanted her. A child's forgiveness and unconditional love is a humbling thing. Kagome would be a fool if she didn't at least give Inuyasha and his son a CHANCE. Even if she goes back and it doesn't work out, after all she and her husband have shared, he deserves at least that much from her. And she owes HERSELF a chance to know Inuyasha's son. Yes, there is a chance that it could go badly....but there's also a chance that she could be happier than she's even been in her life. However, if she walks away without even trying, her misery is guaranteed.
Okay, I'm finally done. But, I have to tell you, this story is just about the best stuff you've ever done....and I've read darn near all of it, LOL. And don't think I didn't notice the EVIL cliffie there at the end. I noticed....but it WAS the perfect place to stop (darn it!), LOL. So, all I can do is beg you to put us out of our misery as quickly as possible!

Love is a crushing thing, and when you think you're losing it and you're still stuck so deep, it's devastating. It will slaughter pride and teach you humility like you've never known. And that's what I wanted to show with that mall scene. Men can be soooo egotistical, but some just don't care. They'll get on their knees, crawl, beg, cry for that love that they can't live without. That's why he told her that he had no pride, ego, or worth. It's like SHE provided him with those things and without her he's nothing.
Kagome is dealing with ego issues herself. Betrayal is deep, but her ego is also briuised as InuHanyouNikkie mentioned. Another chick had your man, can talk about his body in ways that no one else ever should. That's some painful shit, ya know? But can you get past it for love? She's got two choices.
Then Jaden, I love that kid, lol. He's so innocent and forgiving. He fears Kagome, but it's like he realizes that she makes InuYasha happy so he went to her anyway. On a side note, the angst has been so refreshing! Gosh, I love to make it HURT. lol

I never knew about the pill… Since I have never been through the situation, nor have my friends since I’m not too old to be thinking of that just yet. It’s true that she has a lot going on and I feel for her…
Chibi is probably sooo happy to get such a great present! Thank you for ‘hoping I had a blast,’ however… I didn’t. It’s back to College and I’ve had a lot of homework and my father got into a car accident. It’s one thing after another… He’s fine, it was only a minor accident, but nevertheless, it’s still one that costs the family a lot of money. lol…
Even though Sango and Miroku play a small part in this story, they still make a cute couple. I was so happy when they announced about their child, even though it hurt Kagome to pieces.
Jaden wa kawaii desu! I hope he can make Kagome realize how much she needs him. It’s such a rare occasion that InuYasha would throw himself in front of the crowd, unless you were trying to show that he would throw himself in front of the crowd like the way he throws himself in front of an oncoming demon. I like how you can relate him with being so discrete about it. I’m glad that they got to see each other in this chapter. They both can’t go on without each other; divorce shouldn’t even be an option. Hehe.
It’s great that you’re updating so fast! Haha and thanks for the Inu plushies! ^-^ Good job with this story, it’s very cute!

Chibi loves the story -she's a drama type, lol. I still want to do a Miroku/Sango one day, and i will because you liek them so much. I have the plot and all, but I always have so many stories going I try not to add any before i complete some (unless it's a giftfic). But it's coming eventually.

Kagome is starting to piss me off. Her husband got drunk and cheated. Yeah, Yash did wrong. But come on, he's genuinely sorry, he didn't know what he was doing and it's the only time it happened. No man is perfect, but considering how much he loves her and all the shit they've been through and he's stood by her, I'd say he's pretty close.
And Sango needs to stop being a bitch. She doesn't have a clue what's going on between them and is passing judgement on their relationship. Miroku is the smart one, he's leaving them the hell alone and letting them work things out on their own, which is what every couple should do.
