…And the Obsession Continues.
What a week! I haven’t updated here in a few days, so I figured it was time. It’s been a little busy with work, post office bullshit, and Trek, but I’ll do a brief “catch up” session. 😀
First, yes, my obsession with the new Star Trek movie continues. I downloaded a bootleg of it the other day, then a better one last night, and in total, including the 2 times I saw it on opening weekend, I’ve seen it 6 times. I shit you not. 6 times and the movie isn’t even a week old! The funny thing is that being a trek fan already, I was very skeptical about this film and didn’t have plans to see it. Then, I saw a few trailers with Spock and lost my fucking mind! 😛
It’s safe to say I’m completely and utterly taken with Young Spock. (I can’t say that enough.) I love the Spock/Uhura pairing, and when time permits, I’m going to dive headfirst into reading all of the S/U ficcage I can get my hands on. I’ve read some already, but yeah, new frontiers. I’m even going to write one, though you guys are never going to read it. *chuckles*
Overall, it’s just nice to have something other than InuYasha since this fandom really isn’t what it used to be for me. With each new childishly stupid incident, I get a little more put off, so S/U is a nice departure. Plus, they’ve renewed my interest in fanfic, because for a while, I wasn’t much for reading it anymore. But that’s for reasons I won’t get into here. The point is, I’m having more fun than I’ve had in a while, so huzzah!

I hate the post office. Like, seriously. They always fuck up everything and I’m completely annoyed with them. They can never get anything anywhere in one piece and getting recourse simply doesn’t happen. For example: I sent Onna a mac computer and guess what they did? Literally broke its neck. I was furious. Now, Onna sends me some a gift, some specialty dolls for my birthday based on The Edge of Seventeen. A set, too, and guess what? They have lost the fucking package. They attempted delivery, no one was home, so I guess that was their cue to lose it. I spent TWO HOURS in that fucking place yesterday just to hear that they can’t find it. So they give me a number to call today -well, it’s been busy all day. I’ve reported them and I’m going there in person tomorrow, and if they don’t find that fucking package, they had better get a fucking cop.
I’m home today trying to relax and get some writing done (if I can tear myself away from this damned movie!), but I’m not going to push it. If the words come, great. If they don’t, back to the movie, lol. Oh, and speaking of writing and such. My friend, Jenn, is selling some of her anime stuff. I told her I was going to list it with my next update in case the lovelies are interested, but I’ll also list them here along with her e-mail address.

YEEEEES! Trek was awesome! Pretty much all those Spocks were amazing, like Baby Spock, when he beat up that kid for calling his Dad a traitor. Then, Quinto speaks for himself and Nimoy…I’ve only seen bits and pieces of the original Trek, but he rocked it. I loved Spock’s character. He and Kirk were amazing on-screen together (“If I don’t make it, please relay this message to Lt. Uhura–” “SPOCK! We’re GONNA make it!”) and it was cool how they went from being enemies to, sort of friends at the end.
Oh! And how good is the bootleg you have because I downloaded one after seeing the movie and its in pretty good condition (for something that came out two days after the movie made it on screen, though nothing compared to the theater version) except a good portion of the top of the movie is cut off and its kind of been bugging me. So if you have a better copy, preferrably one where the tops of their heads aren’t chopped off (and if the soundtrack is good, because I haven’t heard it) could you pleeeeaaaaasee send that along? 😀
Good luck at the post office tommorow! That sounds really…..awful. I don’t know how you didn’t flip after the mac incident. I would’ve lost it. For their sakes I hope they have those dolls for you (custom EoS sounds AMAZINGLY cool, so I hope they find them also because I’d really like to see pics, lol).
Anyway, I hope the relaxation (and life in general) are treating you well. If not (and they don’t have those dolls)…take no prisoners >=D (kidding!)

You know I’m going to watch it again tonight, ne? Then back to the theater one more time over the weekend. I’m going for a full 10 time record -ha. And don’t get me started on Spock/Uhura. OMG… *taps the vein for a fix*
The boot I had was worse than yours. It had tops and sides cut off because the person didn’t have the camera set for widescreen. >.< In the new one, you still have a problem with tops getting cut, but it's in widescreen, so it's overall MUCH better. The soundtrack has all of the theatrical scores -no real songs. So if you want to give them both a spin, let me know and I'll shoot you some links. I'll also be on the lookout for better boots as time goes on -I'll let you know if anything changes. The p.o. thing is pissing me off. I spoke to the woman I saw yesterday and she said they still haven't found it. I don't understand that, so I'll be there in person to raise some hell. I also reported their asses -not that I think it will do much good. This is such bullshit. -.- I do have some pics of the dolls that I got from Onna. They're dressed the way they were the first day they met in EOS. The chapter is called "The Day it All began". I'll post them here so you can take a peek. 😀

Commander Spock was probably the best. I loooooooooved when he punched Kirk in the face. Was waiting for it for most of the movie. I heard they’re already filming a sequel, too (Perez Hilton if you wanna look into that), which should be interesting now that they’re all a crew.
Wow! 10 times means you must REALLY like it! Enjoy the theater!
I wouldn’t mind checking out the widescreen. The one I had was for Ipod anyway (except, it wouldn’t copy right -__-) so shoot please
I think I’ll forgoe the soundtrack, though.
Awww! And the dolls are gorgeous! That smirk on Yasha’s face and the little details (like the hair and clothes, and…..*cough*…..anatomical correctness 0.o..wow!)! Too cute! I see the heart on Yasha’s butt-stamp, too and I’ll amend what I said before. If they don’t have them tommorow, this time, really take no prisoners, lol.

The family took me to see Star Trek on Mother’s Day and I totally loved it! I never watched the old Trek series, but was a major TNG fan. And Spock/Uhura… that is major love*love*love! I’m so there sharing that obsession with you! Perhaps it’s those sexy pointy ears…. XD
Watcha mean you’re writing a S/U and we don’t get to read it?! Nuh huh, I want some S/U smut from my grrrl! Xd
I heard that there were possibly two more movies in the works. How awesome would that be?

Spock is so yummy. Holy crap. When he’s on the screen I can’t even focus on anyone else. He’s totally Sesshomaru -only more real, lol.
I have a little collection of movie pics that I’m going to send you. My computer uses them as a screensaver *waggles brows*. I’m hoping to get my hands on more. I’ll probably just take some screen caps from the movie. If I do, I’ll send those, too. 😀
And I did get my dolls. Poor things were in the p.o. all along! -.- But they’re home now safe and sound and looking all cute. I think they inspired some writing, too, because I’ve been chipping away. Not tons, but it’s better than the past week (when I wasn’t writing at all). I’m trying to wean myself off spock/uhura!
