Slowing Digging Myself Out of the Hole.
I’m finally inching out of the hole. I updated Love Like Winter, another fic that hadn’t been loved in a calendar year. Urg I liked it, too, which was a miracle for me these days. I liked writing it and I liked the lemon that pushed it from PG-13 to R. It’s not my usual raunch -wouldn’t work for the time period- but still fun to pen and that’s the true miracle since I hate writing lemons.
I’m starting the next chapter, and I just may end it with this one. If not, there will be 1 more after it. LLW is a short, simple story, but I have a tendency to get slightly long-winded in my quest to not have a chapter appear rushed. So, we’ll see. I also demolished my word count pact by going for about 9500. But I needed to because I need to finish this without adding a zillion chapters.
Do you guys even read this shit? Seriously. Do you read the fics and/or this update blog? I’ve been seeing big visitor counts, but you’re barely reviewing. Did you like the updates? Hate ’em? Felt meh about them? It would be nice to know. Lurkers on Absolution -people that visit and never say anything- bug me. I like to know who is in my house. By remaining ghosts, you feed my gnawing instinct to padlock my site and have people request a password in order to get in. That way, I know exactly who is in there.
It can be done, and I’m pretty tempted.
Anyway, ED awards start on Sept. 1st, along with a little extra thing I’ve decided to implement, so it will be busy in coming days. However, provided my inspiration is still there, I will continue to update, even if it’s small shots. I want to get some of these stories down and I’m serious about it this time. Hell, I may even do a fan appreciation month (Yeah, changing it to a month).
For those that are kinda new to me and don’t know about the “tradition”. I used to do a “Fan Appreciation Week” where I would update every single WIP I had in my library. It was a task, but it was my way of giving all of my lovelies a gift -an update of whatever their favorite fic was. At that time, my WIP stable was much smaller, so a week would never be enough now. To make matters worse, the last time I tried to do it I got hit with supreme block and couldn’t. Ungh. But I’m getting into my zone now, so who knows? I just may surprise ya. 0.~
Spammers have been hitting the sites. Pisses me off and makes me use captcha, which pisses me off more because it can be faulty. What do these assheads get out of that? So, I’ve taken to leaving it off when I update for the first day or two, in case anyone wants to comment, and then I put on the security in between. It’s annoying, the entire fucking process.
And one more thing, if you friend me on Twitter, seriously, note me and tell me who you are. I’m not adding you if I’m unfamiliar with you. 10 people, so far, are waiting for approval, but I’m not sure who they are. Don’t let that happen to you! 😛
Anyway, I’ve got some stuff to do. See ya on trail.
EDIT: I pulled a muscle in my back. The same fucking pull that put me in physical therapy most of last summer. WHAT. THE. FUCK.

Hey Sistah! Got your email. Just sent off a reply. You know, for the life of me I cannot seem to remember LLW. I don’t know if I read that one or not. If so, I may just have to reread it or at least skim the last chappie or so to refresh the memory. Girl, I don’t think anyone reads my blog either. The funny thing with the blog/site is that they do read it. >.> LOTS. My server has counters and trackers and it tells me so, lol. But instead of just saying hi, they >.> lurk. I hate lurking, lol. I do write mainly for myself, but if I can make it more enjoyable for the lovelies, I will, provided they review/comment and let me feel their tone. Ah well. What can ya do? I won’t OD on the motrin. >.> Today. lol. They told me to take it every 6 hours at 800 a shot. Shit, I hurt so much I started with 1600 right off the bat! I’m slightly better now, but far from 100%. I’m going to take at least one more in a few hours. >.< LLW is the "fairytale" one where he is a prince and she's his nanny's daughter. Pure Fluff >.> and a dose of angst. It’s a period piece, so the language is not my normal, but I think you’ll like it. 😀

Been lurking, eh? lol. Well, you don’t have to comment all the time, but every once in a while to let me know you’re around would be nice. 😀 TC is an old fic; I’ve just been neglecting it big time, and LLW, while nearly finished, wasn’t updated in a year. Hey bb! I’m still here! I know we ain’t that close (i hope to remedy that!), but I do stop by over here even if I don’t comment all the time.
That said, I love reading your fanfic updates! I don’t always get to them right away, but I don’t think I’ve read any of your fics that I didn’t like. My fave one currently is The Knife of Romance.
I’m excited for the DA and whatever else you have planned for ED. I’m sure it will be great!

You know…I think LLW was the first fic I read on Abi. I caught the first two chapters on ED ages ago and then found the third one on here. Not sure if I ever reviewed it, but thats one I deff need to refresh my memory on, lol.
Sorry to hear about the back. I’ve had to do PT for my shoulder and it was a pain.
And I’m excited about the awards surprise! I’ve been trying to guess what it was and earlier today, and I came up with the WIERDEST idea. The DA page put emphasis on the stories being “legendary”…which made me think of Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris’ character on “How I Met Your Mother”, because his catch phrase is “It’s going to be LEGENDARY!”)…and you know he’s been hosting all these award shows (The Tony Awards and I think…the Emmys?). I kid you not–blame the cold meds for this one–for a good minute I thought “OMG…Neil Patrick Harris is gonna host the Destined Awards!”

But now that I’m with a clearer head/sinuses, I think I have a better conspiracy theory 😉 Practically vibrating with excitement to see what plays out (Sept.1st can’t come fast enough…I love surprises!)

In my little spiel, I was actually referring to my “ghosts” that hang around my site and never say anything, not actual friends that I chat with. I mean, they could become friends if they’d stop lurking, but…. meh. lol. I just like knowing who’s in my place, and more importantly, if they liked the chapter!
Thanks for reading my crap -I appreciate it! I didn’t even know you read KoR (Gonna update that soon). It’s a hard fic to write; it’s like I have to dig deep into my emotional pool to get into that one, hence the slower updates. But, it doesn’t have long before the end.
The Destineds should be groovy this term. There are so many new stories to choose from for nominating and the little surprise (I’m going to announce it when I open the awards) should be good fun for everyone. (I hope.)
