Beyond Redemption

I’ve been crazy gloomy lately, haven’t I? Shit, even my poll is fucked up. >.> But hey, that’s how I was feeling last week with all the crap going on. But I’m feeling better, save for the shitty pain in my back, and I’m ready to get at it again. So, let’s go, shall we? 😀

First off, FANART, BABY!!

The fucking oh-so-awesome Amber commissioned a wonderful artist that I shall call, “Master M”, to make a really pretty Human InuYasha portrait for me and he kicks fucking ASS. I think a few people may have seen him in my gallery already, but I’ll post him here as well. Yes, I realize most of y’all are really into “Hanyou” Yasha, so you don’t get as excited as I do when I see a gorgeous Human Yasha, but oh well. His human form is first with me, so I can only say that if y’all aren’t into it, Deviant Art has a zillion Hanyou Yashas you can dig into. ^_^

And excuse the crazy big watermark, but my art is constantly getting lifted for dumb shit, so from now on, if they want to steal they can do it with my name all over it. Anywho, he’s gorgeous, isn’t he? I absolutely LOVE his intense eyes. *swoons* And she got him a cap with “IG” on it, interlocking like my beloved Yankees “NY” symbol. *squee* This gift made an unusually bad week much better and that’s why she rocks!!

I also got some commissions done! The first was for my girl, Neo, who is a big Loveless fan. I won’t go into the details, but I wanted her to have some good art of Soubi and Ritsuka that she would love and I’m happy to say that Master M knocked it out of the ballpark! It’s a gorgeous pic, almost like it came right out of the anime, and she was really happy with it and that made my week. However, it’s a private commission (like I always do), so it won’t be posted in my gallery or anyone else’s because it’s expressly for her. IF she chooses to put it up, then maybe y’all will get to see it.

My next commission was Human InuYasha for Absolution -and he looks smokin’! I’m not posting him here, either, because he’s for Absolution’s homepage, but he’s fucking “hump-able”, as is my second InuYasha. Now, the second one is actually an updated version of InuYasha from “Fallen”. (Yes, the fic that I haven’t been writing!) and he’s got the white hair and gold eyes. Kagome is not in it this time (It’s rare when I want her around), but InuYasha looks gorgeous and it’s a sweet update from what my nee-chan, Ilsa, did on the first one in 2007. And, of course, there’s The Neighbor Art. I think I’ll have it in hand today, so I’m literally surrounded by delicious new versions of my boo! 😀

So, anyway, I guess if you’re interested in checking them out, you should keep an eye on Absolution. Fallen Yasha will most likely go up first, with the rest to follow.

Onto fiction. I’ve been writing, but not a story that any of you actually read. Neo is fond of Crucify My Love, so I’ve been gnawing at that. I’m also going to give Fallen another shot. I wrote that plot in early 2007 and I should have penned it then. Instead, I sat on the plot and didn’t start it until 2 years later when all this vampire shit was at its height. It annoys me because it feels like a “me too” fic when I wrote it before all of this V-madness took over the planet. That’s why I haven’t been into writing it. The hysteria kinda sucked the fun out of it for me. However, I do like the plot and so do some of you, so why not try it? I had art and a plushie done for that story, dammit! I should at least make an attempt at writing it seriously, ya know?

The Neighbor, yeah, I know you guys are waiting on that. Unfortunately, you’re going to wait a little longer. I’m not going to post the next chapter until the layout for the art is complete. So, whenever Neo can slam it down, some time after that, you’ll see an update. Love Like Winter and In His Eyes, not sure when I’ll do those. Hikari is half-written, though, so it’s just a matter of time before you see that. Everything else will come whenever it hits me. I’ve been messing with older fics lately, so there’s a chance that you may get an update on something old like The Girlfriend Experience or Money. Power. Respect. I also have one more new fiction to start. It’s a gift, and I’m hoping I can take my head out of my ass on the plot and get the first chapter up.

About a day ago my chick, LonelyDusk, offered to create a Human InuYasha for my story, “The Age of Innocence”, wearing a certain pair of glasses I picked out. Yeah, the girl delivered and she’s badass!

I love him -he’s so cuuuuute. 😀

Monday was a good day, a GREAT day. 😀

First off, it was Little Kikyou’s birthday and I celebrated it by getting her a new iPod Nano (the one with the camcorder), and a huge cake from her favorite bakery. For those not in the know, she’s the one I always mention that got me into IY. I call her Lil Kikyou because guess who’s her fave? >.> Anyway, she really enjoyed her gifts and that put me in a great mood. Next weekend I’ll probably take her to Coney Island. I’ve been promising Kau some goodies from there anyway, so I’ll kill two birds with one stone since I have a b-day gift pkge to send her.

The next best part of my day was logging into Deviant Art and getting not one, but two fanarts gifted to me. Made. My. Fucking. Day. The first was from the sweet, Kittygirl. She made some art for me once before of Jaden from Ever After. This time, it was a pic of Kagome from The Neighbor. Really cute stuff and totally dark with lots of “blood”. LOL. Have some peekage!

The next one really sent me into a squeeing frenzy. It was from my girl, T, a.k.a LonelyDusk. I don’t think this pic even requires a fucking intro…

Is that pretty or what? I think y’all know how much I love Human IY, so yeah, I think I screeched sufficiently. 😀 These babes seriously rock; they know how to cheer a Grrrl up big time!

I also got my commission back from Ayamegusa for “Love Like Winter“. To say it’s anything less than the fucking awesome would be a gross understatement. The image itself is massive, so I cut it down some. This is the copy I posted at my gallery with my automatic watermark, but I think you can still see how much detail she put into it. I gave her references for everything, even the ballroom, and she just tore it up. Fucking squee.

Yeah. Great fucking day, Monday was. 😀

As for updates, well, I’ve been doing some of a different nature. I know you guys will be like, WTF? I’m waiting on [insert fic] so hurry the fuck up!!! LMAO. I sowwwwwwwy!! I got the bug and couldn’t help myself! For the longest time I’ve been wanting to clean up my story, Amber. It’s the fic I wrote in 2005, all in one day, based on the movie “Somewhere in Time”. It’s my favorite movie of all time, and I’ve always felt awful about the way I wrote that story. I’ve grown as an author in many ways and I really want to make that story a better read. So, that’s what I’m doing.

Now, I’m not changing much of what was written. I was pretty inexperienced back then, and I want to keep that inexperience. I think an author’s work should show some growth between the very old and the very new. However, the grammar, sentence structure, and shit like that really needs overhaul. I’m also expanding some parts (like the lemon) and filling a few plot holes that I overlooked back then. I’m about to start on chapter 5 (that’s where I am at this point), but it shouldn’t take me too long since I did 4 chapters in 2 nights. I only have 11 real chaps in total, so yeah. Should be quick.

Why am I telling y’all this? Because that’s the hold up on why I haven’t updated anything else yet. Don’t fret, though. I have definite plans to update my current fics. I’m not as horribly busy as I thought I’d be. I’m finding that I can squeeze in a bit more time for writing, so that’s what I intend to do. 😀

I also have a new poll up, so vote! The last poll was interesting. Most of you (who actually voted) have been with me between 2 and 4 years -pretty cool. Though, there were a couple that signed on from way back when and I find that just O.O Speaking of, June 16th marks my 5th year of IY fandom/writing. Holy Fucking Shit. That’s kind of nuts. Who’d have thought I’d still be into IY all this time later? With all that has happened to me, and around me, since I got here, that’s a pretty fucking huge accomplishment. Party time! 😛

I can listen to that song all day -and I have. The band is called Silversun Pickups (Yeah, I know >.>), but the music is stellar. I have them playing on Absolution, so give them a shot. The lyrics to this song, especially, says a lot to me about people I know. I love when a song can do that, put shit in fucking perspective, and this one does it for me. The title alone is wow.

Anyway, short entry. I had a blast at the Coheed signing/acoustic show and Claudio’s voice is just fantastic. Totally love that guy, but I’m also growing a huge appreciation for Travis as well. He’s a real sweetheart. I’m stoked for the concert in May; I hope they come back at the end of the tour like they’ve done in the past. I’d so be there.

I got more chibis! The ones for ED I’m not posting. They’ll show up for the summer skin in June. But I did have my “signature” art redone chibi-style and it put such a huge grin on my face. I made this pink background for my deviant art ID, and of course I watermarked, but you’ll be able to see it well enough.

I also got Kau a chibi art that I knew she’d go apeshit for. She has a thing for Kouga/Rin (go fig!), so when you see that pairing in my fics, it’s for her. <.< always. But anyway, I'll give you a peek at her art. It's a wedding piece. 😀

I gave myself a nasty cold on Tuesday, so I’m under the weather. I’ll be indoors, having not accepted any work this weekend for that reason (I hate spreading germs), so I’ll be trying not to get worse and get some writing done for the next few days. I’m really hoping to finish The Neighbor, but I’m not going to push it if it doesn’t cooperate.

And in a WTF? moment, I bought a new mouse cause the old one was old and acting up. Well, this one is super responsive and it’s making me crazy because every little touch has me clicking the wrong thing. Can’t win for fucking losing!

It’s been a few days, but your Grrrl is back and ready to catch y’all up on the happenings!

First off, the new chapter for The Neighbor has been posted, as is the new skin I promised. Maria did an outstanding job on InuYasha Emmanuel of Hikari and I couldn’t ask for anything more beautiful. The full pic is enormous, but let me just say that it’s absolutely exquisite. I’m going to post a small version with a heavy watermark because I’ve HAD IT with people stealing my commissioned pieces for personal use. The stuff I purchase is always for my websites, which makes them “commercial” and it grates my fucking nerves when people steal my headers and shit from right off my site, hence why there is a watermark on the new header. Not that it stops people. I had one using my gift art, art with my likeness and name on the character’s clothing, as a personal icon (cropped from one of my headers), so that goes to show what they’ll do.

Now, before I was distracted by the urge to suckle… <.< I was talking updates, right? Yeah... The Neighbor has been updated with chapter 9 and I’m writing Chapter 10 now. I’m overwhelmed by the positive response the story has received and kinda stunned at all of the reappearing faces. When you don’t hear from people for a long time, you automatically assume that they don’t read you anymore. Sad, but a fact of life. However, it seems that that isn’t the case for many. Apparently, they are around and just haven’t reviewed.

In any case, it’s really nice to see some of the people that have been with me since I started almost 5 years ago. Especially at a time when I’m debating my retirement date, because no, I won’t write fanfic forever. But before I hang up IY’s haori, or in my case, Yankee cap, 😛 I do want to get several more works out there. So many, many thanks to everyone who left my story some luv; it’s an awesome feeling to know that my work is still enjoyed.

I’ve decided that I probably won’t be touching any other stories until I finish The Neighbor. It’s not a long story at all, and we’re over the halfway point. Then I’m going to work on all the chapters that I mentioned a few threads ago that were close to being posted. I also want to work on a couple of fics that are near the end, and I think I’m putting Sengoku Medical Center to bed permanently. I’ve had a hankering or two for new chaps, but overall, I’ve lost too much interest in it to continue. I won’t delete it -you never know if I’ll revisit it someday just for my own sense of accomplishment- but there won’t be any continuance in the foreseeable future. Sorry if anyone was hoping I’d revisit it.

Pretty Brown Eyes will be completed, though, as it’s only a chapter left. It was supposed to be two, but I’m shortening it to one because I want it done. For me, at this point, it’s about ending the old fics and I don’t want to drag them out any further. Same for Edge of Seventeen; I’ll be finishing that final chap as soon as possible. Same goes for Love Like Winter. That one, though, is Nikkie’s giftfic, so there won’t be a rushed ending. It’s one of my faves and I’m going to end it in 2 chapters the way I planned to from the start. And you can add Loved to that list as well.

Hooray for a plan of action! ^_^

IT’S MY MOTHERFUCKIN’ BIRTHDAY! WOOOOOOOOO!!!! xD

Okay, now that I got that out of my system… lol. It’s also my Onna-mom’s birthday (You know her as Inuyashaloverr) and I’m in a great mood! I used to write something for my birthday when it came around, but for the past few years I haven’t. You know, the usual. No inspiration, no time, but this year I pulled something together. It’s called Silk Stalking. I started it almost a year ago as a giftfic, then I got stuck two paragraphs in and SPLAT. It laid dead, never to be touched again. (I’m sure Danga recalls when I started this thing. Remember the “manacles”? lol.)

Then, while tossing out old drafts from finished fictions, I came across it and started reading what I had, and for whatever reason, the original idea that I wanted came back to me. And gasp! It actually flowed! The most shocking thing about this is that it’s canon, post manga to be exact, and y’all know I don’t hardly go there. However, I’m happy with the way it turned out, and it was nice to write something for myself again (and Onna!).

Today is a lazy day. I’m gonna make Spanish food for dinner (Yep, I’m cooking today! O.O) and I’m gonna eat buttercream cake (drool!), and play loud music, and I may even write something else. (Pumps fist!) In other words, I’m gonna be happy today. 😀

I also finished the new skin a few days ago and it’s up and waiting for some love! Neo did a heavenly job with the header (can you imagine how fucking awesome the wallie was?! She had “Inugrrrl” done in fireworks!) and I’m simply in love with the font that I found for it. *squees* I’m 100% happy that I stopped being a brat and let Kagome come out and play!

I TOTALLY LOVE THAT WOMAN!!!!

I just wanted to toss a quick post up here for my peeps because I’ve been a bit MIA. Well, New Year’s Eve went well. I managed to get ED, Abi, and TBR updated for the anniversary/new year in my half-drunk state (that turned to pissy drunk shortly after). 😀 And if I do say so myself, it looks awesome! Maria and Neo really did a fantastic job on the header art and design, respectively, and I couldn’t be more pleased.

But Neo also made a gorgeous header for Absolution (GO SEE!) from some giftart that my Onna recently made for me. It’s absolutely HUZZAH, ya heard?! I knew it would be good -all Neo’s shit is good (am I right??)- but sistah knocked it out of the park! I love how she made the logo area look like a sign, and I couldn’t help writing “InuGrrrl’s Sanctuary”. It was too perfect because Human Yasha will always have a home there. And, of course, Onna always makes pretty art. When she showed me the sketch I immediately told her I wanted it for Abi and she obliged. Yay!

Neo also made a WHIP ASS wallpaper for me. Now, I want to show it to you, but I’m not. I’ve decided to accept her offer of making it into a header for Abi so you’ll have to wait until my birthday to see it! But know this, the art is by the ass-kicking Righteousred, and if you frequent Abi, then you know how good she is. What will be more surprising for you is that it’s not just Yasha this time… Kagome will be there, too! Now, THAT is a true first. I’ve never put any female character on Absolution except myself, so this should get you Kagome fans giddy. 😛

And while we’re here, how about a few movie reviews?!

*Spoiler Alert*

FRAILTY: The premise is that a widowed, loving father and his two sons live a normal life together -until the father awakens saying he had a dream that God wants him to kill demons that are roaming the earth disguised as humans. Now, Frailty isn’t your typical horror movie. For starters, there isn’t an excessive amount of blood or gore. I would call it more of a “thriller”, but don’t let that deter you; it’s a good movie. Bill Paxton directs and stars along with a small, but powerful, role for Matthew McConaughey.

The end result: It’s not a “must see”, but if you do, it will not be a waste of your time. Out of a possible 5 Yashas, I give this 4.

FEAST: Okay, this is more of a horror movie, minus the suspense. The gross outs, gore, and blood are plentiful. The premise is that a bunch of losers are in the local dive when a “hero” walks in saying there are monsters coming their way and tosses a head out there for proof. Now, before he comes in, you get little tidbits of info on each character -put out there in a way meant to be funny -and they actually do make you chuckle. There are a few good one-liners that made me laugh, a scene or two that made me feel bad, but more time will be spent making you say “Ew” than anything else. There are also a few guest spots like Henry Rollins who plays a motivational speaker and Treach from “Naughty by Nature” playing a soldier.

The end result: For a project greenlight flick (The Ben Affleck/Matt Damon thing), it’s pretty decent. Not a must see at all, but if you’re bored one night it’s worth a view. I think there have been sequels, too. Out of a possible 5 Yashas, I give this 3.

CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST: Okay, I’m gonna get real with y’all. This is one of the most graphic, stomach-turning movies I’ve ever sat through. I had to walk away about 40 minutes into it for a breather.

Yes, it’s that bad.

The premise is that 4 documentary filmmakers go to the Amazon to film these primitive, cannibalistic Indian tribes. Two groups had already gone to this place before them never to return, but OF COURSE they’ll be the ones to come back (and after the shit they do, they don’t deserve to come back). >.> Anyway, like I said, it’s really NOT a film for the squeamish. Some of it looks so real; people thought it was a snuff film and it’s banned in several countries (with good reason). I’ll give you a heavy spoiler: All of the animal killings are REAL, which is why some places banned it. Also, the depiction of barbarism, murder, and sexual/graphic violence is off the fucking richter scale. Get ready for a plethora of full frontal nudity and rape scenes, too. Seriously, all this in 1979? o.O

No wonder the director was arrested when it first came out in Italy, lol.

The end result: I can’t recommend it. Despite their philosophical “who are the real monsters?” schtick, it’s a movie made for pure shock value. (Not that I have anything against shock value; it serves its purposes. But this goes way, way, WAY past that.) Like, none of this shit served any purpose; there was no lesson to be learned and no message, unless they’re saying, “Stay the fuck out of the Amazon acting like assholes and cannibalistic Indians won’t EAT you!” or “Killing animals on camera then serving their brains to people that actually eat them on camera is fun for the whole family!”

Out of a possible five Yashas, I give this half of a torn up, bald, toothless, haggard, bootleg Yasha. >.>

However, if y’all wanna see it… 😀

Okay, the plan for today is to get some sleep (was up all night again), finish a few e-mails, then work on my last chap of the OC fic so I can get into others that have been on my mind. I’m making it my business to complete some stories this year (it’s part of my resolutions!) and that means actually doing some work on them!

Isn’t it pretty? I love the eyes! Onna is also making a Human Yasha for me herself, and I can’t wait to see that one when it’s all done. It will be GORGEOUS. It’s one of those ones where his eyes are shielded and it’s all about hair and profile. SQUEE. Totally counting the seconds with that one. 😀

As the world knows by now, my Yankees won the World Series last night, and let me tell you, I haven’t felt this good in a while! Not only did I get to see my team make it to #27 and give our “Boss” another well-deserved win, but I get to see the naysayers eat a big fucking plate of CROW. I remember over at my LJ community, someone started talking smack to me because they didn’t like my avatar (InuYasha wearing a Yankee cap) and they said the Yankees would choke in the post season.

Yeah, we’re choking alright. We’re choking on #27 in our new ballpark.

Tell me that’s not the most awesome shit in the world? Breaking in the best stadium in America with our 27th World Series victory? I’m going to savor this moment for a long ass time. There will be a parade for them tomorrow and I may even go because I want to see my Arod. But even if I watch from TV, I couldn’t be prouder. The Yankees are the team of the decade. We opened the decade with a WS win and we’re closing it with one and everyone else can kneel and kiss the fucking ring. LOL.

That said, to celebrate my favorite team, I re-skinned Eternal Destiny just for this occasion. I used the art Rinoa gifted me for my story “Loved” and made a layout called “Yankee Universe”. It will remain the default skin until December, and of course, will be available as a regular skin on the homepage menu.

I had faith in my team from the jumpoff and that faith has paid off. We finally beat the shit out of the Angels (it was a LONG time in coming) and we’re going to the WS to face the Phillies. Is it an uphill climb? Sort of. They don’t suck as a team, but neither do we, so that means that we need to work hard if we want to win. However, win OR lose, I love my Yankees and I’m proud of them, particularly Alex Rodriguez. Everyone knows what a huge fan I am of his, and to see him finally shut these assholes up with that big fucking bat was a treat (just ask the Angels who walked him SEVEN times). I just hope he continues to play well so he can thoroughly enjoy his first WS appearance.

As for the haters, I’ve heard enough crap during the season that rubbing their faces in it, bad form or not, just feels too fucking good to refrain. So SUCK IT DRY, clowns, because even if we lose, y’all teams still got jacked.

Okay, enough prancing. I just had to vent and get it out of my system. 😛

I’ve been on the hunt for a new browser. I have 3 that I use, 2 of which I use regularly, but I don’t know… They just don’t seem to be fast enough. I like my shit rapid fire and firefox, who used to be that way, isn’t now, and others I’ve tried are lacking. I end up having 2 browsers open at a time (like now) for different purposes and it sucks. I downloaded camino and flock, but both were slow as shit with camino crashing twice right after I loaded it. >.> Flock was just… not for me. Right now, I’m using Opera and Firefox for different things, but lawd. Can’t ONE browser just get it right? Ungh.

I’m going to do some writing today (provided my arms let me), just to see if my inspiration is here. I’ve officially laid off facebook games in a big way. In fact, I’ve barely touched them all weekend, which is like O.O because I’ve been addicted since the start. So, that’s a good thing.

Tomorrow night I go see Michael’s movie at the IMAX theater. I totally can’t wait. It’s almost like our last chance to say goodbye. I’m bringing kleenex. >.< But it will be so nice to see him dance one more time. <3 I owe a few people some e-mails (I'm looking at you, My Lily!), so I'll be working on that over the next couple of days before I have to hunker down and work on the Eternal Legends. Also, the new InuYasha ep. is playing at Eternal Destiny along with a nice mix of songs from our "InuYasha Playlist". I usually don't post music at ED, but I thought some people might like to listen while they read or whatever. (They have the option of shutting it off). And thanks to everyone that showed my last post some love. My arms have been angry, so I'm not typing much, but I read all the responses and appreciate the luv. <33
