Beyond Redemption

No, I don’t have any updates ready yet. Let’s just get that off the table now.

The last few days have been spent updating Absolution. You probably didn’t really notice it because I was working internally and only shut it down for a few minutes at a time. It wasn’t fun at all. Now that it’s fixed, I can tell ya what went down. Basically, her software was old and she was starting to spit out random error messages, which isn’t cool.

She needed an upgrade, so I had to do a lot to make it happen, because when I did finally update her software, just about everything that could go wrong went wrong. I won’t get into any tech details -I don’t share that stuff- but I will say that trial and error sucks! But finally, she’s fully updated, secure, and no more random errors or incorrect data numbers. (I deleted several stories that used to be in the archive -not mine- and she wasn’t updating the changes in the reviews. There was about 3oo more than there should have been, but now the numbers are fully accurate and shit is fucking peachy. (ɔ˘з˘)ɔ

In two weeks I turn 8 years old. I’d like to update in time for my anniversary, but we’ll see what happens. There will definitely be a new layout posted with some badass Yasha art (look forward to it!) and I treated myself to the gift of moar Kevin Woo art because >.> I love UKISS. This time, it’s chibi art and it looks fucking adoooorable. I’ll post all my goodies on D-Day (June 16th). Until then, let’s all cross our fingers that you Grrrl’s brain will get out of tech mode and get back into story mode! ✌(-‿-)✌

So, I’ve had a lil sumthin sumthin to drink. 😀

No, not drunk, but just right, feel me? It’s been a while since I’ve indulged, New Year’s Eve to be exact, so I was overdue to get my Parrot’s Bay Rum on. (Gawd, SO GOOD! Not that I’m encouraging anyone to get their drink on).

Anyway, I’m trying to post here more often, and I’m also gonna leave comments open sometimes (when I remember. It’s off by default). Not that I think anyone has anything to say either way, but just in case you wanna toss your .03 in. Yeah *slurs* So, let’s freakin’ update, shall we?! 😛

I got some cute giftart the other day from ‘Jay’, this cool chickie I met on Deviant Art. I usually don’t befriend new people anymore due to the fact that I’ve been burned enough time by fandom chicks to last a fucking LIFETIME, but I made the exception, and thus far, she’s cool people. But anyway, point is, she surprised me with some nice art from one of my favorite artists, so it was pretty damn awesome. Wanna see?

Cute, ne? The artist, who I just love, even put my new lil “symbol” on it as a necklace. Am-ski started it with my “Baseball Cap Yasha” and the interlocking “IG”, so now he makes sure Yasha is always wearing it in my art -and now- me, too! 😀 So, again, that was a nice surprise and completely unexpected.

And speaking of gifties, Kau is making something for me! I know what it is, but I’m waiting to see the finished product. I guess it’s a bit of a birthday present that I’ll probably post on Absolution when it’s done. I’m totally giggly about it!

Should I mention that I paused in writing this entry for 3 hours? LOL.

Time to rap it up for the night (since it’s 3:30am). I’m going to be working on some other updates, both for fictions that haven’t gotten any love in a while. Hopefully, I’ll get one done really fast, but unless it’s super short, that won’t happen. (Think I’ll go for short…) I updated Fallen, but I don’t know if anyone really read it besides a handful. Whoever did want to follow it probably gave up on it. There’s only been 3 updates in over a year, but hey, that fic is hard to pen, so I put my concentration into the ones that weren’t eating my ass for dinner.

But big thanks to the few that did leave me a nice review and supported a story that is NOT The Neighbor. I don’t even want to touch that one for a while. If I do update it, I still won’t be posting it any time soon. I have other stories that were here longer and need my attention. I want to update them for the people that read them and not just pander to those that read psycho yasha. Therefore, if you’re only at Absolution to read The Neighbor, no need to drop by for a while.

In other news, my mom’s birthday is on Tuesday, so if I seem bitchy, that could be why. (But I’m still not changing my mind on anything I’ve said.) And on Valentine’s Day I’m going to have a lil minor announcement here, so stay tuned.

Damn, I haven’t updated in ages, have I? Well, there hasn’t been a whole lot to say, but I’ll put up the latest.

First off, Kau rocks. My birthday is coming (March 2) and I’ve developed this new taste for Zero Kiryu from Vampire Knight. Well, she’s sending me the DVD box set that just came out, a Zero plushie, and the VK artbook. I’m SO excited. (Like a kid in a candy store!) I love Zero; he’s so fucking cute! My Lily, who is a huge VK fan, will probably squeal with me. lol.

I have moar art coming. Well, this one is actually for Fallen and I’m getting it from an artist I’ve never worked with before. It’s always an adventure when there’s a language barrier. >.> I like her work a lot, but I don’t think I’m going to be super happy with it. I know this because what I asked for wasn’t completely what was drawn. It goes back to artists doing what they want on your commission, ya know? I just don’t get that.

If you’re being paid to create something, shouldn’t you make it to the customer’s specifications and not decide what you want to do on your own, especially when you were given complete references and instructions (I asked for InuYasha one way, and she made him a completely different way)? Or how about approving a lineart, then having the artist take it upon themselves to redraw it because they weren’t happy with the result. Then they go ahead and color version two that you did not approve, then act a little put off because you put your foot down and said you want the version you did approve.

Yeah. <.< It happened twice with this pic, thus making the wait for it take even longer and I'm still not completely happy. The only good thing is that the art is very cheap, and even if it's not exactly what I want, she is very good at drawing. But lawd. My queendom for an artist that will NOT take liberties with the work I’m PAYING for! If you give me something for free, make it any way you wish and I’ll be happy and very appreciative. Charge me and I want it my way. Period.

But there is some good news. I’m getting new art done for my new site, and I think I know who I’m going to ask. Not only is she a great artist, but she will make it the way I want it without question. *sighs happily*

I know you’re all waiting for updates. Welp, I don’t know when you’re going to get one. I need to finish what I’m doing for my site first, then I’ll start writing again. I mean, I’ll probably chip away at it in between, but don’t expect any full on chapters for a bit. And thanks for the reviews as of late. It’s nice to know that people are patiently waiting for updates, even if almost ALL of those updates inquiries are for The Neighbor. >.> Who knew this fic would practically overshadow everything else I’m doing? But seriously, don’t take that story to heart.

Some of y’all are really into it to the degree that you’re analyzing every single thing that goes on, and I have to say, that’s a bit much. It’s just a fanfic, ya know? It’s written for fun with no hidden meaning about life and no lessons on human behavior tucked within its folds. It’s not even going to be that long, so loosen the grip, okay? And it’s not that I don’t appreciate the love you guys have for it. I do, but if it doesn’t sum up to whatever you want/think/hope it should be, you’re going to be disappointed and I really don’t want that. So read it for the same reason I write it: Twisted pleasure and nothing more.

Well, if you didn’t know, the LCD screen on my computer went blewy, trapping all of my files and stuff on that computer. NIGHTMARE does not begin to cover it because it happened at 9pm on New Year’s Eve. Just hours before I was supposed to do Eternal Destiny’s goodie bags and anniversary stuff. I was fucking DISTRAUGHT, because while I have 2 more computers, that was the one I used the most and it had all of my files on it. >.< With the help of Kau and Amber, I was able to still get everything done on time, but I spent a harrowing 4 days with no access to any of the stuff on my HD, thus making several things late. >.< But I got lucky. I was able to get a new computer yesterday, and because Macs rock, I was able to connect this one to my old one through firewire and transfer all of my files off there, so I'm back in business. I have all my fic notes now, and all the stuff that's really important (like my 5000 music files :D) and I can get back to doing my thang. But again, harrowing experience. I’m addicted to my computer and the thought of losing it for any reason… *shudders*

So I’ll be taking the old one to the shop (the HD and superdrive work fine, so if I can get the monitor fixed, I’ll have a 4th computer loaded with software) and using this one for the duration. I’ll also stop screwing around and buy an external HD so shit like this can’t phase me if it ever happens again. *prays that it doesn’t happen again*

And I want to give a quick thank you to all of the new people that have been at the site leaving reviews (well, you may have been around all along, but I just didn’t know who you were because you never said anything). It was nice to come back to so many kind words, especially when my mood is all spiked off getting another comp. I definitely plan to start writing soon, so just bear with me while I get situated in my new house. ^_^

I still haven’t done much writing, much to my own chagrin. I wanted to, but got sidetracked with site work. I’ve been improving things at my dot net and Eternal Destiny and making some techie changes that I’ve been wanting to implement for a while.

I finally added a watermarking system to my gallery and I’ll probably be adding that to ED’s gallery as well, just as extra protection for the people that do use that gallery. I also added a new skin to my gallery that I truly love because it has the look of a wordpress blog rather than a gallery. Neat, neat stuff. I also plan to skin ED for the summer as well as a new one for Absolution. I’m just waiting for Neo to work her magic and then it’s a go.

And while we’re on site stuff, ED’s LiveJournal comm will be starting on June 1st with a new format. Most of the details are already on the profile, and prompt lists will post to the comm in a few days. The hope is that it will be a relaxing summer activity people will enjoy. Then, of course on the same day, the Destined Awards start. I’m supposed to do Legends again this term, since it’s retroactive and this would make term 3, but we’ll see. That’s a lot more work for me… and we’ll see. >.>

Okay, back to the writing, I’m trying to get something posted this week. I can’t guarantee that it will be The Neighbor, though. I’m not happy with the chapter I have for that and I don’t know if I want to finish it and post it. I probably will -not very chap will be a good one- but I need to at least feel like it’s passable and I don’t feel that yet. So, there’s the heads up in the event that it feels a tad off to you. I also want tow rite a couple of old, neglected stories, but we’ll see. I don’t want to overwhelm myself because I’ll end up not writing anything.
